Sunkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Thrushstar leaped onto the Jaggedrock and called for the clan. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" He yowled.

Her tiny body practically vibrating with excitement, Sunkit practically lept from the mouth of the nursery. Last time I'm ever going in there. She thought proudly to herself. Sitting inside camp all the time felt like being in a prison. And today, she would finally be allowed to run free.

Puffing out her chest, she sat down, tail curling around her paws and attempting to look collected and calm. While in reality, she felt as if she could fly across the territory in record time.

"Tonight we gather to make this kit an apprentice," Thrushstar announced. "Sunkit, from this day until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sunpaw and your mentor shall be Stormflight. May he teach you everything he knows." With that, the Shadowclan leader leaped off of the rock to let the clan celebrate the new apprentice.

And there it was! Sunkit approached the high rock, tail swishing and head held high, and in a few short moments it felt like her entire life had changed. She was now Sunpaw - by all means one step closer to the total freedom of a warrior, and she couldn't be more proud of herself if she tried.

Of course; she did know she was destined for it.

"I will." She purred. "Of course I will." She simply couldn't wait.
