Violetkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Blizzardstar leaped onto the Highrock, ready for another ceremony “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Violetkit bounced out of the nursery, nearly tripping over her own paws. She was finally going to be an apprentice! Making an effort to contain her excitement and look dignified, she found a seat near the highrock.

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Violetkit, please, step forward”.

Violetkit padded forward quickly, trying to look like she knew what she was doing. She took a deep breath and looked up expectantly at Blizzardstar.

Blizzardstar smiled at the kit before talking again “Violetkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Violetpaw” She took a quick glance at the warriors gathered before picking one for the new apprentice “Your mentor will be Cherryfang. I hope she passes down all she knows on to you” With that she jumped off the Highrock, dismissing the clan.

Cherryfang blinked from where she sat among her clanmates. Her blind green eyes focused for a moment where she heard Blizzardstar before she got to her paws. The blind tortie made her way over to her new apprentice. Apprehension prickled at her at the idea of training her own apprentice. She wasn't even sure if she was ready but she would trust her leader's judgement. She bent her head down and touched noses with her new apprentice.

Violetpaw glanced around and spotted Cherryfang not far away. She wasn't the mentor Violetpaw had expected, but she was kind and reasonable. Violetpaw hoped she would be a good mentor, making a silent vow to be the best apprentice possible. She looked up at Cherryfang and brushed her nose with her own.
