The Trio's Last Patrol

Laurelsong's eyes widened in amazement as Necterleap padded back to the group, a grouse hanging from his jaws.  "Wow, awesome catch Nectarleap!  That should be able to feed the whole nursery!"  Giving her tri-colored friend an affectionate head-bump on the shoulder, the pale-pelted she-cat noticed out of the corner of her eye that Stoneheart was looking a bit dejected; Ha, I though you would've at least learned to hunt by now...what can I expect though, from such a pitiful excuse for a WindClan warrior?  A sneer ready on her tongue, she was about to let the stony gray tom have it when, she remembered.  With a barely audible growl, Laurelsong padded away a few paces and scented the air, quickly finding another prey scent.  Turning her head, she flicked her tail to beckon Stoneheart over to her, and flicked her ears in the direction of a nearby rabbit, it's twitching nose barely visible between the leaves of a gorse bush.  Am I seriously helping this idiot hunt?  Well, if it's what it takes to keep Nectarleap happy...I guess it's not that bad.

"Thanks. It basically flew right into my paws," Nectarleap said humbly, blushing slightly. Trotting over to where Laurelsong had dropped her rabbit, he added the grouse. Though there wasn't much covering it, it should be enough while they were right there. If any predator did come, they would easily fight it off. He padded over to his friends, traces of a proud grin still on his face. He noticed Laurelsong flicking her tail towards Stoneheart, then gesture in some direction. His eyes following the line, he could just barely see a rabbit's nose, and now could clearly smell it. He felt warmed by this. She was definitely warming up to him. He expectantly looked to the tom with an encouraging expression, hoping that he would be able to catch the rabbit.
