Sparkkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all c-cats o-old enough to capture t-their own p-prey g-gather underneath J-Jaggedrock for a clan m-meeting!" the black leader called as he padded up to the edge of his perch.

Sparkkit ran out of the nursery hearing the leader call. She sat down in front of the Jaggedstone, flicking her tail anxiously. She wanted to hear what was this about. Maybe it was her apprentice ceremony! After all, she was old enough to be an apprentice.

Firestone was returning from a border patrol when he heard the calling of the black furred tom. Stepping closer, the young warrior sat and waited patiently for the new announcement. Probably it was just a ceremony but still, he wanted to hear what he had to say.

Gingerstripe stepped outside of the warriors' den, bursting with pride to see one of his kits getting her apprentice ceremony. Hopefully, Magpiestar would pick a good warrior! The tom didn't gush all over his kits- that was their mother's job- but he loved them just the same, and he hoped that Sparkkit could see the love and pride in his eyes as he watched her. The tabby tom sat by his brother Firestone, giving him a friendly nudge of greeting.

"Sparkkit, p-please s-step forward..." the tom spoke, eyes looking down at the soon-to-be-apprentice.

A bright and wide smile appeared on her muzzle when she heard her name. With a bounce, the over-excited kit reached the front of the Jaggedrock. She almost wasn’t able to contain herself from letting out a loud exclamation about what was going to happen. It was finally her moment!

"You h-have reached the age of six moons, and a-are now ready to be a-apprenticed. From this d-day forth, until you receive y-your warrior name, you shall b-be known as Sparkpaw. Y-Your mentor shall be... F-Firestone. C-Congratulations." The tom gave a small smile and jumped down to join the chanting of congratulations.

Firestone's ears perked when he heard his name during Sparkpaw's ceremony. Giving a happy glance to his brother, the stocky warrior approached the little she-cat and touched her nose with a confident smile. "I'll make sure that you will be as great as your father, Sparkpaw! Training starts tomorrow so be prepared!" He purred returning to his niece. It was great that his first apprentice was part of his kin... he swore that he would turn her into an amazing warrior just like him, Flamestrike, Littlebrook and Gingersripe.

Gingerstripe's grin widened as the leader named his daughter's mentor. Firestone. The tom gave his brother a nudge of congratulations as he got up to touch noses with Sparkpaw. "Magpiestar chose well," the young warrior purred, happy to see one of his kits as an apprentice- and with one of ShadowClan's best warriors, no less.

Her green emerald shone when she turned her head toward the orange tom. With a bounce, she touched his nose and chuckled happily that her mentor was the brother of her father. ”I’ll do my best!” She mewed loudly, flicking her fluffy tail excitedly.
