Littlekit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" The deputy called more cheerful than usual. Of course, his happiness was caused by the ceremony of one of his kits: Littlekit. Even if her ceremony was a bit delayed, Jaystream was still happy for this new stage of her life. He purred searching for the small she-cat who sometimes resembled the silhouette of her mother.

Littlekit made her way from where her father had had them holed up. The petite she kit  padded forward and looked up at her father her silvery ish pelt glistening a bit in the sunlight. She sat down looking up eagerly and yet nervous.

The tom smiled at the petite kit approaching him, nervously. "Littlekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Littlepaw. Your mentor will be Finchstream. I hope she passes you all her knowledge and wisdom." He announced with a wide smile as he fixed his eyes on his fellow clanmate, Finchstream. He knew that she was the friend of a cat suspicious of betrayal but that didn't mean she had to be punished as well. The grey tabby warrior had proven her loyalty to Riverclan and she deserved the chance to be trusted. At least, Jaystream decided to put his faith on her to train his own daughter.

Finchstream, who had been watching the ceremony with a broad smile, was shocked to hear that she was to be the young she-cat's mentor.  In the past, due to her fears, she had not been the best mentor to the young cats put under her charge, but this time she was determined to do better.  Taking a deep breath, the petite warrior stepped out of the crowd and bent to touch noses with the deputy's daughter.  Gazing down at her with a warm smile, she purred; "I promise to do my best to teach you all that I know."
