Is There Anything That's Worth More...

The brown tabby she-cat opened her eyes tired. Days before, she gave birth to her first litter of kittens with Crowfur. Thanks to Starclan, everything ended well for her and her four little toms. She looked at them with her blue eyes, proud of having healthy kits like them. Purring, the young warrior nuzzled one of them with her nose, trying to wake them up. They were now strong enough to open their eyes and walk. "Good morning, my little ones. Do you sleep well?" She asked, wrapping her tail around them protectively. She wanted to take them out for their first to the camp outside the nursery but first Cedarstorm decided to wait for her mate.

Sootkit slowly opened his eyes, which he was still getting used to. Once his vision cleared, he looked up at his mother. "Good morning, mama. Is father here?" After looking around, Sootkit saw that he wasn't and decided to busy himself poking his littermates, trying to get them to wake up and give him more space.

Hailkit slowly opened his eyes. He yawned, and looked around. He surveyed his surroundings for moment, then his eyes fell on Cedarstorm. "M-Momma.." he murmured, snuggling up close to her.

"Move over, Hailkit!" Sootkit complained, You're practically on top of me!" He pushed against Hailkit and tried to get him to budge over.

Hailkit scowled, but shifted to the Side."Well, I'm not sleepy anymore," He mewed, getting to his paws.

Ashkit woke up when Sootkit pushed against Hailkit. He looked around, confused for a moment. Then he saw his mother. He stood up, taking a couple of shaky tiny steps towards Cedarstorm. "Morning Mama," he said in a small voice.

Sootkit growled aggressively at his littermate and curled up, trying to fall asleep again. After about a minute he realised that he wasn't tired either. He rose slowly to his paws and licked his mother's cheek like he had seen his father do. Mama, can I go outside?" he mewed hopefully. He had never been outside and there were so many new smells wafting into the crowded nursery that carried a feeling of freedom.

Ashkit looked to Sootkid in surprise, though he wanted to go outside too. They could walk and see now and it was boring in the nursery! "Please Mama! Can we go?"

Darkkit woke up, slowly blinking open his eyes. ”W-what’s going on?” he stammered. Looking around, he saw his litter mates and his mother. ”Mama?”

The black and white tom looked at his smaller sibling, surprised that his usually introverted brother finally agreed with him on something. He looked back at Cedarstorm. Surely with his brother on his side, their mother will let them go?

Crowfur walked into the nursery with a mouse in his jaws. He placed it down in front of Cedarstorm. "Eat love. Soon we can take our kits out to explore." he purred. The dark tom looked over at his four boys with a proud smile. "Patience Ashkit, Sootkit. Your mother and I will take you out soon." he said with a playful grin. "Now, who here is excited to become a warrior one day?" the tom asked his kits.

Darkkit perked up, all traces of sleep gone.”Me! Me! I am! I’m gonna be the best warrior!” he exclaimed, excitedly.

Ashkit smiled at his father. "Me too," he added a little more shyly than Darkkit.

Sootkit jumped up, excited that his father, whom he looked up to a lot, had finally come back. "Me, me! Imma become a warrior just like you!" then he paused. Did his father say what Sootkit thought he said? They were going outside? "Can we go outside now, father? Can we, can we, can we?" He practically tripped over himself with excitement.

The new mother smiled when her kits soon started to wake up one by one. Hearing them calling her Momma was the most amazing feeling in the world. She could felt her heart melt every time she saw them moving there, close to her body. She chuckled feeling the lick of her son and when she was about to answer Darkkit's question, Crowfur appeared with food. Smiling brightly to see her mate, Cedarstorm purred to him and then ate the mouse, grateful. She listened to the answers of her sons, proud. Taking the last bite, the queen stood up slowly and licked the cheek of Crowfur lovingly before looking back at her litter. "Then, If you want to be the best warriors to must know our camp. Come on, little ones, we're going to show you your home." She purred picking up Ashkit from the scruff gently. Then, she beckoned with her tail to follow her and Crowfur to the exit of the camp. The brown tabby she-cat wanted to show them how amazing Shadowclan was.
