ooc) Seer is tired and too fried to write a long beautiful intro topic for her babies so;

Brindlewhisker is an old geezer who struggled giving birth to a bunch of abnormally tall babies and suffered a little health crisis in doing so. Now she's stuck in the nursery for the foreseeable future, but she doesn't mind hanging out with Featherkit, Ivykit, Silverkit, or Mistkit cause she's a good mom who enjoys spending time with her new brood.

Featherkit rolled around, occasionally bumping into her mother and her siblings but generally enjoying herself. She purred happily as she did so, but stopped when she rolled into the wall that bordered the camp. "...What's that?" she asked, attempting to inspect it. She looked to her mother, hoping for an answer. She probably knew everything, or at least Featherkit thought so.

Mistkit stayed where she was, tucked under her mother's paws. Her flat face wrinkling as a breeze dipped into the den, her long fur fluffing out as she struggled to push herself into her mother's chest fur. Blue eyes slowly turning amber scrunched closed, a soft whine making past her throat as she complained before settling down.

Dewtuft was the proudest father in the world as he sat beside his mate looking down at their kits. He picked up Featherkit up in his jaws when she strayed too far, his teeth gently grasping her by the scruff to drop her over by Brindlewhisker. "That's the camp's gorse wall. It keeps up safe, little one. Don't stray beyond it till you're an apprentice."

Silverkit let out a small whine. He just wanted to go and explore. He began to crawl away around his siblings. The little tom didn't get very far as he got tired of dragging himself. He curled up in a corner of the nursery to try and hide himself from every other cat. He didn't like to be noticed so the best way to achieve this was to hide. He observed his siblings and parents do what they were doing. His body shivered but he was strong. He couldn't let anyone see he was cold.

Ivykit's small ears twitched as he gazed around the Nursery. He staggered around, blinking. He stretched his jaws wide in a yawn. He didn't feel like exploring, he wasn't ready yet. He felt extremely tired. He nuzzled up to his mother as he closed his eyes and snuggled deep into his nest.

"Gorse?" Featherkit asked, testing the word as her father picked her up and moved her. "Okay," she agreed cheerfully, snuggling into her mother. "I'll stay here! Is there even anything outside?" Like any kit, she was curious. She didn't know very much just yet, but she wanted to. After all, one day she'd be a warrior like her mother and father, so she needed to know as much as they did.

"Nasty things like foxes and badgers that will gobble a kit up in one. The thorns of the gorse plant keeps us safe so stay in camp." Dewtuft warned Featherkit, but his words were directed at all his kitlings. It would break both Brindlewhisker and his heart if anything happened to their little bundles of joy. Goldenflame's death had hit them hard, another loss was not something they could bear. "Oh, Silverkit, come here." The tom picked up the little tom by the scruff and placed him in the nook between his forepaws and his belly. It was warm there, and his tail served as an extra barrier from watchful eyes. He remembered that the world could feel overwhelming at times and wanted his kits to feel safe.

Ivykit moaned awake and stared up at his mother. "Can I go explore the camp tomorrow?" he begged.

Brindlewhisker let out a drowsy purr as she watched Featherkit and Silverkit stumble around the nursery as best they could, unable to resist recalling whenever Dawnlight and Goldenflame were still so young and precious. Hiking her stiff hind leg up with a slight wince, she circled Ivykit protectively with her limb as she listened to Dewtuft speak to Featherkit about the outside world. Looking down at Ivykit as he eagerly questioned her, she paused for a few brief heartbeats as she tentatively thought over her options- they were still a bit young to go outside of the shelter of the nursery, but she knew that the Clan was also eager to see the latest litter of kits.

"Perhaps," Brindlewhisker finally conceded softly, her foreleg moving ever so slightly to keep Mistkit flush against the soft fur of her chest, "Maybe your father would be willing to take you out sometime tomorrow?" She offered, her gaze flicking to Dewtuft for confirmation as she spoke once more. It upset her slightly to think that she wouldn't be able to take her kits out for their first adventure until she was fully healed, but she knew that her mate could easily handle doing such a task.

Ivykit would then wean from his mother with a sigh. His blue gaze glinted with just a speck of its hazy dark green. The tom-kit flicked his tail, making odd squeaking noises. He curled up in his nest with a moan, snuggling up to his mom as he struggled to fall asleep, closing his eyes. I wonder what the world is like, he thought. Probably terribly dangerous. I can't wait to meet the rest of the Clan, like Mom and Dad keep talking about! His ears flicked as he fell asleep.

Featherkit made her way back to her mother as well, snuggling close to her and drifting into sleep, and to thoughts of peaceful, happy dreams. Maybe she would get to explore the camp with her father, too? She could see what was outside the nursery!

"No... I don't really want to go outside mama. It sounds awfully scary..." Mistkit sputtered, shrinking away from Dewtuft. Turning to look up at Brindlewhisker, "Is the world really so scary mama? If it's so dangerous I don't think I really wanna go outside. Ever." Mistkit huffed only slightly sure of herself, her paws shuffling out of nervous shyness.

"Now, now, are you doubting your old man's ability to keep you safe? I'll have you know, that I'm the second strongest cat in the forest, after your mother of course." Dewtuft meowed fondly towards the end, he gave a little nod of confirmation to his mate before giving her cheek a lick. He couldn't help himself, seeing her tucked away in a nest with all their kittens, she was so beautiful. He felt so lucky in this moment...

"I'll show you around the camp, and maybe when your mother is well enough, we can even give you a peek of the moor."

Ivykit woke and nodded, stiffening. "What's the world like?" he asked his father, blinking up at him, his blue eyes slowly turning green gazing curiously. He stared around the Nursery impatiently.
