A Newt's patrol

Newtslip padded towards the exited of the camp waiting for anyone to join her. She was quite hasty all those short days after her warrior ceremony and as all newly appointed warriors she wanted to be as useful as possible. And because of this she decided to woke up earlier and lead the patrol.

Swiftpaw had gone out of the apprentices den still a bit groggy with sleep. He spotted Newtslip waiting at the camp entrance probably setting up a patrol. His eyes lightened up and all sleepiness had evaporated. He bounded up to her. "Hello Newtslip!" Swiftpaw greeted his former den-mate. "May I join you on a patrol?" he asked the she-cat.

She-cat nodded immediately saying: "Perhabs we should wait for anyone else." But like something happened she mewed surprisingly: "No,no. We are going alone. Others may sleep." She flickered her tail as a sign for begging and slowly padded out of the camp looking back if Swiftpaw was following her.

Swiftpaw bounded behind Newtslip as they headed away from the camp on their patrol. "Where are we going first?" the apprentice asked.

"I was thinking of a little trip along Thunderpath to check if everything is okay with ShadowClan. Then we could do a little hunting," She turned her head to Swiftpaw asking for opinion: "What do you think?" While waiting for an answer she went on pushing her way through high grass, which was almost red coloured. Greenleaf was really over.

OOC: So sorry for not posting!! ;-;/

IC: Swiftpaw nodded at Newtslip's suggestions. "Yeah let's go to the Shadowclan border first." he said with a smile. He followed behind Newtslip to the first border.

Newtslip nodded and padded on with her long tail waving and thinking about future times. She was eager to get apprentice as soon as possible. Every ceremony that Ashstar had appointed was so tense for her until the end.
After a couple of time they got to ShadowClan border and Newtslip mewed: "You go and check there." She flickered her tail to place some fox-lenghts further. "I will check here." She flickered her tail at the place nearer Thunderpath. "This should be quick," she added.

Swifpaw walked a bit further to where Newtslip told him to go. He checked around that part of the border and tried to smell for any weird scents. When he deemed it clear, the slim tom headed back. But not before renewing the scent marker.

Once he got back, Swiftpaw reported everything to Newtslip. "Everything seemed clear and nothing out of the ordinary was scented." The tom licked his chest before he continued, "I also managed to renew the scent markers. He waited for the warrior to talk.

Newtslip smiled: "Okay. You surely did great job." But she immediately realized what she had just done; she acted like Swiftpaw's mentor altough he was a little younger than her and more than ready for warrior ceremony. "I don't know why are you still apprentice? You are suited for a warrior for ages," she added. While waiting for response Newtslip lead way on towards the border with RiverClan, which was on the opposite side of the WindClan territory.

Swiftpaw beamed when Newtslip told him he was warrior material. He felt pride and puffed out his chest. "Thank you Newtslip." the apprentice said. "I'm sure a great warrior like yourself will get an apprentice very soon!" said the tom. He followed behind the warrior to the Riverclan border, all the while feeling happiness.

Occ: I do think that we can stop here. We have done great patrol and Swiftpaw is a warrior already so it is probably strange to rp him as apprentice.

Icc: After a while two cats checked the RiverClan border, which was all clear. Then Newtslip mewed for the going back and cats headed for sandy WindClan camp.
