Lichenkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats of Skyclan old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the tallbranch for a clan meeting!" Rippedsky's yowl rang through the clearing. His claws scored the tallbranch once more. Bubblemist's kits were growing up so quickly already. There had been a lot of ceremonies lately and that was something he was grateful for. The deputy's blue eyes scanned the clearing as he waited for the clan to assemble.

Lichenkit bounded out of the Nursery. She was hoping it'd be her turn to become an apprentice; even Curlykit and Halfkit had gotten their turns before her! She puffed herself out, watching Rippedsky with a grin and wide, expectant eyes.

"Lichenkit, please step forwards." Rippedsky called as soon as the kit joined the crowd. It was finally time to have her officially join the rank of apprentice. A soft smile wormed its way onto his maw. As soon as Lichenkit padded forwards, the deputy continued, "We gather once more to name another young cat as one of the clan's apprentices. Lichenkit is old enough to begin training. From this day forwards, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Lichenpaw. Wildstorm will be your mentor. I expect he will pass on all of his wisdom to you." The former rogue had returned to Skyclan and it was very quickly like he had never left. He had been a great warrior and he knew it was time to trust him with the training of one of Skyclan's young cats. As soon as the ceremony was over, he leaped down to congratulate them both.

Wildstorm stepped forward to approach his new apprentice. He hoped he wouldn't let Rippedsky or Lichenpaw down.

As soon as she was asked to step forward, her grin widened until it was painful, fur shaking in excitement. She cast a quick look over the crowd, almost expecting to see the judgmental gazes of her siblings, before padding over to Wildstorm. She reached up and touched noses with a purr.
