Hollowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled.

Hollowkit strode out of the nursery. His white patches glittered in the son, and his multi-colored eyes focused on Ashstar on the rock. She was such a proud cat. The tom hadn't been much of playing as he was a kit, unless it was to practice. All because he wanted to be like her.

Ashstar nodded approvingly at the young kit. Her great-grandkit- Gustpuddle's daughter. The eagerness in his eyes warmed her heart and gave her hope for WindClan. "Hollowkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Hollowpaw. Your mentor will be Quailfeather. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you."

Quailfeather blinked as her name was called as her nephew's mentor. Life had been hard for her since father's demotion, and she appreciated the distraction. It gave her a little more respect for Ashstar. She would do anything for any son of Gustpuddle's, that was for sure. She touched her nose to Hollowpaw's and smiled, her frosty blue eyes looking into his. "I can't wait to train with you, Hollowpaw," she purred.

Hollowpaw strode to his mentor, blinking his orange and green eyes. He purred, touching noses with Quailfeather, his aunt. He glanced up at Ashstar, teeming with pride. "Can we start now?" he asked, blinking again.

The lithe gray speckled she-cat blinked, and then laughed a little, nudging Hollowpaw. "Of course. We'll start first thing tomorrow." She was extremely glad that Ashstar had given her another apprentice. The young tom looked promising- hopefully he'd turn out to have a heart. As long as she could teach him the how to follow the code and be a good warrior while caring for his Clanmates, they'd have no problems at all.
