"Yes....she did but I worked hard to prove myself to her I worked harder then any apprentice"She had started to say but jumped to her paws at his outburst but she then looked down again."I'm not anything special.....or amazing"She mewed quietly glancing to him.

Nectarleap shook his head in disbelief. How could she think that she wasn't special or amazing after what she had just said? He wondered if her mother still was mean to Heathershade after she became a warrior. "The fact that you worked harder than any other cat just to prove yourself to a cat who wasn't nice to you just proves how amazing you are. I can see that, so why can't you?" He pawed at the ground in slight frustration, but mostly in determination. "Does she still call you useless after you proved yourself warrior worthy?"

"I'm not sure....."She started to say quietly. She then flicked an ear quietly lifting them ever so slightly"I guess she still is I haven't spoken to her since my warrior ceremony but I'm sure she still feels the same"Heathershade mewed. What was she supposed to do say oh ok I'm amazing an move on it just wasn't that easy for her.

"Well, you know what?" Nectarleap replied, his bicolored tail raised high. "If your mother mother doesn't talk to you anymore, then just screw her! You aren't a kit or apprentice anymore, so you don't need her approval. Sure it would be nice to have, but now it isn't the end of the world not to have it anymore. You can find many other cats that give you the support you need, like me for example. So if your mother sees you as useless, then go talk to someone else who sees that she is wrong."

Heathershade blinked for a moment before she felt some feeling for the tom stir within the sad she cat. She blinked looking up at him before she managed to say"yeah I guess your right....but...i have you to talk to now right? "She asked looking at him slowly.

As Nectarleap looked at Heathershade, he was finally able to put a name to the feeling that he had always had for her. Maybe he had a crush on her. He listened to her words intently, smiling slowly at her words. So she did want to talk to him after all. That alone was enough to send the young warrior's mind into a state of glee, lessening the sorrow he felt for what happened to Heathershade. He looked her straight in the eye, his amber eyes softening from serious to relaxed.
"I guess so. What do you want to talk about?" he asked her casually, muscles relaxing and settling down. He gestured with his nose to the rabbit he had caught. "I think we can eat this now. As long as we catch more before we head back to camp.

"No...i meant can I talk to whenever I need to....i mean I know you've tried in the past to be there for me...i just never thought that you were"She mewed looking to him.

"Oh." Nectarleap hadn't realized how deep she was getting. But he knew his answer, so he decided to spare them both the awkwardness of an apology and just say what he meant. "Yes, you can talk to me whenever you need to talk to someone. I'll always be there for you, so don't worry about bothering me. You can always talk to me, and I can always talk to you too, right?" The warrior's voice lightened with every word, and he looked into her eyes. Yep, he definitely had a crush on her. There was no maybe anymore.

Heathershade blinked and smiled a tiny bit. She looked to him. At first she half expected him to tell her no she couldn't but when he said she could she gave a small nod"thank you"She said quietly.

Nectarleap smiled and looked into her beautiful green eyes. Was there a chance that she felt the same way about him as he did with here? Maybe, but he wasn't sure yet. "You're welcome," he mewed back to her, letting those words hang in the air for a few moments. Then he turned to face the expansive moors of their home territory. He could smell so many scents of hares and rabbits, and it would be a wasted opportunity not to go hunting. "How about we do some hunting before going back to camp?"
