An Adventure for the Two of us (For Tawnypool)

Nectarleap loved being a warrior. Now he could go wherever he wanted without asking permission. He didn't have to take time for training with his mentor, though he did still have duties to fulfill as a warrior. But come on, was there any better feeling than knowing you were done with training and had earned your place in your clan? Well yes, there was. His friendship with Stonepaw and Laurelpaw, but more prominently, his feeling that he didn't quite understand for Heathershade. More than just that he thought her fur was beautiful, but that she needed a shoulder to lean on, and that he could be that shoulder for her. Her pretty green eyes always seemed troubled as if holding something in.He could tell the new warrior needed someone to talk to, and that was what he planned on doing. He padded over to the she-cat and smiled warmly in greeting.
"Hey Heathershade! Do you want to go on and adventure?" he asked her, a playful tone in his voice. He had gone on an adventure with everyone close to him before, and maybe on with Heathershade would bring them closer. And an adventure didn't have to be long or hard, it could be just a hunting patrol to somewhere in the territory that he hadn't been before. But no matter what they did, just being with Heathershade would make it an adventure for him.

Heathershade was quiet as she was laying in a comfortable spot soaking in the sunlight that shone on her pelt. She blinked her green eyes looking up seeing Nectarleap . She blinked quietly "oh yeah sure "She mewed moving and sitting up quietly

OOC: He asked her a question, and she didn't answer it, so I don't really know what to do next. Can you edit it, and then I'll edit this out.

Nectarleap internally shouted thanks to StarClan that she said yes. Though he had expected her to say yes, it still felt good to know that she wanted to be with him. "So by adventure I was meaning maybe a hunting patrol to..." Nectarleap pondered where a good adventuring place would be, and then it hit him. Everyone said that lone stump was a beautiful place, and he had yet to see it. "To lone stump," Nectarleap finished. He started padding out of camp and in the direction of the said landmark.

"Alright sure"Heathershade mewed putting on a small smile. She followed after him to their destination

Nectarleap started padding through the partially burnt grass and heather towards lone stump, hoping to arrive there with enough time to go hunting and talk a lot. Nectarleap was good at talking, but he had to get there somehow first. Before long, his paws had found their way down the familiar territory and to the lone stump. The scent of rabbits and hares filled the young warrior's nostrils, reminding him of how good of a hunting spot that this was. With Heathershade beside him, Nectarleap sat down and gazed over WindClan territory. "This really is a nice place, huh?" he commented to Heathershade casually. He looked around to see a fat rabbit pretty close to where they were, and smirked goo naturedly. "How would you feel about me catching that for you?"

"I'd think it would be sweet of you but I am also a capable hunter"Heathershade mewed smiling a tiny bit for once a genuine smile.  Heathershade smiled enjoying the view though the lone stump was also the place of birth....and the place of feather of her mother's mother whom she was named after. She flicked an ear quietly.(the whole Twisted Mother thing I'm going based on memory I could be wrong)

Nectarleap purred in amusement at Heathershade's comment, not exactly knowing why it seemed funny. He thought that he detected a small smile on her face, making him feel happier than he had since his warrior ceremony. Though soon that smile faded slightly, and a slightly troubled expression seemed to be on her face once more. The young warrior wanted more than anything to make sure that she didn't have to constantly be troubled.
"Well, I'll catch it anyway. After that, you can decide if you want to catch your own or not," Nectarleap decided, looking warmly at Heathershade. He turned back to the rabbit and slowly crept closer to it, light and silent on his paws with each step. As soon as he was within chasing range, he took a long leap at it, then started sprinting. The rabbit didn't notice him until he landed, giving Nectarleap enough time to lunge for its neck and kill it with one merciful bite. Holding up his catch proudly, he carried it back to Heathershade.

Heathershade didn't mean to give a troubled look but thibki by about the area seemed to get to her. Shaking her head she smiled once again watching Nectarleap catch a rabbit for her. She gave a purr"great catch"she mewed as she sat down.

"Thanks!" Nectarleap said brightly, glad to see her smile once again. That thought reminded him of his original reason for wanting to go on this patrol. Sitting down next to her, the warrior smiled, but he was feeling a little awkward about what he wanted to say next. Praying to StarClan that he wouldn't offend her with this question, Nectarleap spoke.
"So Heathershade, if you don't mind me asking, why do you always look slightly troubled? I mean, we all are sometimes, but it seems like whenever I see you you look like you have something heavy on your mind. Sorry if this seems to personal," Nectarleap explained, hoping she wouldn't be mad at him for asking. The reason that he wanted to know how she felt was so that he could help her, and that was a good thing in his mind.

Heathershade looked to him before she looked down for a moment the smile vanishing for the moment and hear cream white ears laid flat against her head."well..it....well my mother... She has been telling me every since my father's death that I'm useless and ..."She trailed off quietly tail curling around her tightly not saying much after.

Nectarleap's emotions changed rapidly. First he felt bad about how she suddenly seemed uncomfortable, then he felt confused why her mother made her feel bad, then sorrow at her father's death, and finally anger at her mother calling her useless. That fact almost made his head explode, for he could not see how anyone would think of Heathershade as useless when she seemed so obviously amazing to him.
"She said you're useless?" Nectarleap ended up angrily exclaiming. He had meant to seem warm and sympathetic, but his immediate reaction was to be angry. "Heathershade, I'm sorry about your father and I know this must have something to do with your mother's actions, but calling you useless is just plain horrible! I can see how amazing you are and I'm just some random cat, so if your own mother can't see it, then that's her problem not yours!"
