Hunting for Wild Things [Closed]

Raccoonfang waited at the entrance of the camp for her apprentice Wildpaw. She needed to do some hunting training with him. She hoped that they wouldn't run into trouble while they were out. She just wanted a nice easy day of training. Things seemed stressful among the clan lately and she didn't know why. Maybe it was just her. She needed to see Swiftclaw again..

Wildpaw headed towards to entrance towards his mentor, Racconfang. It was finally time to start more of his training and he was excited. He wondered if he was going to learn how to hunt, or learn where all the borders were, or how to fight even. Anything would be nice; he needed to get out of the camp for awhile. "Hey Racconfang! I'm ready to head out when you are," he said.

"Thats good. We are just going to be doing some light hunting today. Nothing to exciting." The brown warrior said to her apprentice. She padded out of the camp wandering into a part of the territory that hadn't been hunted in for a little while. "We just need to catch a few things and we can head back. We are taking it easy today." Raccoonfang said.

Wildpaw nodded, not surprised that they were only going hunting. He followed his mentor out of the camp, moving as quietly as possible so he didn't scare away the prey. "So, should I go ahead?" he whispered to his mentor, waiting for her signal.

Raccoonfang nodded. "We will meet up back here." The warrior padded away from her apprentice. She would stick close in case he needed help, but she needed to catch something herself.

Wildpaw nodded and sniffed the air. He caught scent of wildlife all around, mostly plants though. So he stalked along and kept sniffing the air, making sure he was downwind of whatever prey he could smell. After a few moments of searching, he caught scent of a hare nibbling on the grass just a few feet ahead of the apprentice. He stalked carefully and when he felt close enough, he pounced. Unluckily, the rabbit had seen him pounce and scurried away. Wildpaw struck the ground in anger with his front paws. How could he miss the easiest prey to catch in his clan?

Raccoonfang padded away from her apprentice, looking for something to hunt herself. The brown and white warrior soon found a rabbit. She crept close to it, getting as close as possible until she pounced, being really quick so it wouldn't escape. The warrior caught the rabbit with ease, and buried it for later. She hoped Wildpaw was having some luck with his ext catch.

Wildpaw sniffed the air, looking for anything else. He caught scent of another rabbit, probably a few feet away from where the other one had ran off to. He began stalking, making sure he was downwind of the prey before creeping along. He got closer than he did the last one and pounced again. This time he was successful in his kill. He was proud of himself as he buried the prey to be collected later and he continued looking for new prey.

Raccoonfang watched as her apprentice caught a piece of prey. Good he was getting the hang of it. The warrior turned away, catching scent of another rabbit for her to hunt. The brown and white she-cat tracked the scent until she knew she was close enough not to scare the rabbit. Shortly after she got closer before she chased after it quickly going to tackle it. Once she had it she swiftly killed it and put it with the others.

Wildpaw thought that he was hot stuff after his catch, so he figured he could catch more pretty easily. Sniffing the air once again, he caught the scent of a finch hopping around, looking for worms. He slowly stalked the bird, keeping out of the bird's line of sight as he rushed forward quickly and tried to jump on top of it. The finch, realizing the apprentice was trying to catch it, flew away. Wildpaw got too cocky and it bit him in the tail for it. Plus the hunting dice/gods hate him apparently.
