Birds of a Feather (Closed for Midnee)

Ospreypaw chuckled. "I guess I do!" The tom jokingly flicked her on the shoulder with his tail. Laughing, he tried to think of Reedkit's funny tail. Fogheart, did say it suck out, like a reed. I don't know... Something like that!" he yowled playfully humping Finchpaw with his shoulder.

Finchpaw laughed and placed her paws gently on her friend's shoulder, giving him a playful shove back. Purring heartily, she replied in a sarcastically scolding tone; "Okay mister, no need to get cocky!" Giggling, she settled back down next to him and gazed down at her paws for a moment, suddenly a bit shy. "Ospreypaw, thank you for opening up to me about your family." Leaning against him, she gave his shoulder an affectionate nuzzle before gazing up with a purr, meeting his gaze. "I'm honored to be your friend."

Ospreypaw purred, laughing at his friend. "Fine, I won't!" he purred back before settling back Down. Ospreypaw, lifted his head to look at Finchpaw as she spoke, a small sheepish smile worming it's way onto his face as she spoke. He was surprised to hear it, but Ospreypaw was also thankful. Her words made him glow a little.

"T-Thank you, Finchpaw." he stammered still shocked. The tabby tom shook himself, just to try and get his thoughts in order. Ospreypaw grinned at Finchpaw as he thought about what she had said. "And I'm honoured, that you're honoured to be my friend!" he purred happily.

Finchpaw giggled, pulling away from the tom just far enough so she wasn't leaning on him. She was surprised to hear him stammer; the tom always seemed so confident and outgoing, but for a moment he had sounded almost....shy? Embarrassed? She didn't know, but it was almost kind of......cute.

Finishing off what remained of the fish they shared, the young she-cat closed her eyes and relaxed in the sun, content to sit in silence next to her friend. She didn't have any more questions for him, at least not right now. Opening one eye, she gazed fondly at him for a moment, before quickly glancing away.

Ospreypaw swiped his tongue over his muzzle clearing up any fish that remained. The tabby tomcat rolled over and gently pawed at the blue sky overhead. Ospreypaw purred contendly as he lay by his friend, things seemed to be getting for RiverClan, not to mention that Newleaf was fast approaching.

The mottled apprentice rolled over to look at his friend again. He smiled softly and let out a sigh, today was definitely a good day. Ospreypaw lifted a paw and gave it a quick few licks before setting it down and flicking his ear a couple of times.
