Feelings of Betrayal [Open]

Mottleheart face was that of a frown as he stared off into the horizon, his gaze hard as little emotion flickered across his face. It was clear that Mottleheart was not the same since the gathering. While he was normal around his kits, when they were out of his sight it was clear that he wasn't the same warrior he had been just a few moons ago. He laid across the broken stump, his front paw hanging lazily off as he took deep, calculated breaths. He didn't know how to react, how to feel. He had lost both of his best friends in a such a little time.

He wanted to be upset. Why? Why did StarClan have to punish him for his two daughters by ripping away some of the most important cats in his life? He wanted to be angry. It was not his fault - even if his fling with Duskcloud was short and loveless, he had still given WindClan two perfect warriors. He adored his daughters with all his hearts, why did StarClan wish to punish him for that? He...He wanted to be crushed by it all and curl into a ball. He preferred logic but he saw no logic in his friends' reasoning. He wanted to bury his head in his paws and cry for forgiveness - to have Brindlewhisker and Rockpaw forgive him but at the same time he wanted nothing to do with them.

They blamed him, they abandoned him. It was not his fault, it was theirs! They acted like it was all his fault for having kits but it was simply their fault for letting their emotional get the better of them! Why? Why did both of them care so much that he had kits? His claws dug into the bark of the shattered stump, his fur fluffing out as he hissed under his breath. Neither of them wanted anything to do with him and the rage age up at him. Their friendships had started out so nice, why did they have to let Raccoonpaw and Ravenkit get in between them?

It took a few moments but finally his rage ended at it was filled with bitter despair. If neither wanted anything to do with him - fine. He would never speak to Brindlewhisker again unless he was forced to - but there would be no joy in it. As for Rockpaw? He swore bitterly that he never saw that apprentice again. Rockpaw had acted even worst then Brindlewhisker - leaving with only a few words instead of the argument that the two WindClan cats had shared. But, perhaps, deep inside...He wished for the two to apologize so that they could be friends again like nothing had happened. But it was so deep inside that Mottleheart didn't feel it at all, covered by the rest of Mottleheart's conflicting emotional.
