At this point, they were both exhausted and on the verge of collapsing but Otter managed to muster up that little bit of strength to continue. Raising his paw up in the air, he looked down at the grey tom and meowed. "Good night, foxheart. May the Dark Forest take you." His paws came crashing down on the tom's head, slamming his jaw onto the ground as they had done to Frogpaw.

Sootwhisper didn’t have much time to react. His eyes were focused on Smokepelt at the time, and was tempted to rush at the apprentice’s aid as soon as he noticed that the deputy had successfully knocked Greypaw out. However, his train of thought was interrupted when he felt the WindClan warrior’s hit him square on his flank, causing him to lose his balance and fall on the hard ground that was so common to the moors.

Letting out a soft growl, he quickly go up to face his attacker, claws unsheathed, his expression calm and neutral, just like always, even if his eyes appeared to be lit on fire with rage. He quickly lifted his front paws to pummel on Swiftheart’s face with his claws unsheathed.

Nightheart was sincerely in shock, not able to move a muscle as soon as the battle started as memories from her previous battles flashed before her eyes. She never had even tried to hide how much she disliked battles after all the unnecessary bloodshed and deaths that she had witnessed at Fourtrees so many moons ago, and this wasn’t the exception. The only thing that forced her out from said shocked state being the hit of one of the attacking cats, forcing her back to the present. She may dislike battles, but this wasn’t the time to focus on that, she had to defend her clan!

With these thought in her mind, the dark warrior quickly tuned over and used some momentum to slide under her opponent’s belly, using her claws to cause as much damage as possible before getting back up.

He knew why he was here, and he should've stayed serious, but watching the she-cat run away... The sharp scent of blood in the air, the cries and yowls of cats, the pumping of his heart as warriors went tumbling across the sands. It was exciting. This was nothing like battle training, nothing like his scuffles on the border or at Fourtrees, this was the kind of real battle he dreamed about. If StarClan was good they wouldn't have had to be here, and Frogpaw and Shellwater would be both safe and sound, but he couldn't change how he felt now in the moment.

These were the moments warriors were born for. Sleetpaw let out a high cackling mrrow over the din of the battlefield, plunging back into the fray toward the first cat he saw.

Limping with pain, Otterleap scanned the clearing for who to attack. He was weak, barely standing and had little fighting spirit in him left but he refused to go down without a fight. "For RiverClan!" Otterleap yowled, limping furiously and slowly making it up to a run. Then before anyone would stop him, he attacked a ginger apprentice, Flamepaw. He pounced on him, using his considerable weight to pin him down.

Brindlepaw grunted whenever the heavier she-cat landed on her, and ground her teeth whenever the Riverclan cat's feet raked at her spine. "She's so heavy! They weren't lying whenever they that all Riverclan cats do is stuff their faces- I can barely keep myself up." Brindlepaw thought with a flash of panic, struggling desperately to fling the other she-cat off.

After being frozen in place for a moment, joints locked in pain, Fishstar didn't waste a second to bring about her retaliation. She exploded upwards and latched onto Ashstar, burying her claws in the younger leader's back and slashing madly. "You're a fool," she hissed, scoring bloody lines in her enemy's fur. "You could have resolved this simply by getting rid of your code-breaking, apprentice-maiming deputy, but you chose violence!"

Squirrelpaw latched onto the apprentice. She was exhausted, and the cat below her was exhausted, but it didn't matter anymore. She felt her small, short breaths, hot, against her chest fur. This might not work, but…Shellwater couldn't be wrong now.
Her heart seemed to explode as she used her weight to swing Brindlepaw to the side, sending them tumbling to the ground. The tabby flipped, panicking, and felt herself end up on the she's belly, raking her claws again and again, feeling the skin tear beneath her.

Fracturedhawk yowled in pain, clenching his eyes shut and backing away from the WindClan deputy. He opened his eyes again, and let out a low hiss of anger. He narrowed his eyes, and charged toward the older cat. Out of pure rage and hate towards this tom and the rest of his clan, he put every last bit of effort into his next blow. He knew it would be difficult to near impossible for him to defeat a cat such as Smokepelt, yet he tried anyways. once he reached his opponent he didn't slow down, yet instead slid by his underbelly, and raked his claws along the soft exposed fur.

Ashstar wriggled under the RiverClan leader's grip, gasping in pasin as she felt her old wounds dealt by Morningstar reopen. Hot blood trickled down her sides, staining her gray fur. At Fishstar's words, WindClan's leader became enraged again. "You don't seem to understand everything I've lost," she snarled. "I've fought for so long to make WindClan strong, to protect my family and my Clan. Even though my son is the one cat left sharing my blood, all of WindClan is my family, and I will not exile them for losing their tempers one time. Just because you're the oldest leader in the forest, the biggest Clan, you think you can push us around. Well, we won't let you! We'll defend our camp with the strength of LionClan! You filthy fish-pelts can't seem to understand the ideas of peace and love, only justice and hatred. We'll drive you back out of our camp and show you who StarClan really favors: the defenders over the attackers! Great StarClan, I've built this Clan back up from the ground and I will not let you tear it down!" Ashstar said the last part loud enough for all the WindClan cats to hear and be strengthened by their leader's courage.

Ashstar is no longer stunned.

Shellwater staggered back as the WindClan she-cat raked her soft underbelly, the one place that wasn't horribly scarred. Were all WindClan cats demons? The calico she-cat went limp as her opponent slid out from under her. The pain and exhaustion wasn't a front, but she could still fight. As soon as the she-cat's grip loosened, she burst up at her, knocking her to the side. For Frogpaw! For Otterleap! For Squirrelpaw! FOR RIVERCLAN!

Thistleblaze hissed once again as the Windclan warrior wouldn't let go, but she was going to make him whether he wanted to or not. She swing around again with her non hurt paw slashing at the tom, dragging her claws down the side of his face, deep enough to leave scars for a while.

Nightheart lowered her ears as the RiverClan warrior fell to the ground after her attack. Getting blood on her claws was something she simply wished to avoid as much as possible, but the rival clan was leaving her without options. She would be lying if she said she didn’t recognize the warrior she was fighting from the last gathering. The apprentice that had been disfigured by their own warriors according to Fishstar’s words, and fighting her was far from making her feel right even if it was to defend her own clan.

However, she couldn’t think about this for long as the RiverClan warrior sprung back to action, the hit causing her to gasp with pan and almost fall to the ground. She had lowered her guard, her bad. Hissing at Shellwater, she quickly reared up on her hind legs to bring down her front paws on Shellwater’s head, acting more on impulse than anything else. It wasn’t until the blow had been landed that she finally relaxed, taking a deep breath “Sorry…” Her voice was low and regretful as her eyes landed on Shellwater’s hatred filled ones. She knew that there was a huge chance of her clan was the responsible behind the brutal attack she had to endure, and though there wasn’t any solid proof to back up the she-cat’s words, she still felt guilty thinking that it could be a fact.

Lionfur staggered back as the she-cat dug her claws into his face. Blood streaming down his fur, his strength gone, he collapsed to the ground. What... He'd lost? Stupid RiverClanner. At least he'd done a number on her- she wouldn't be attacking Ashstar any time soon. Pity.

Shellwater fell to the ground as Nightheart smashed her paws onto her calico head. In pain, she found that she couldn't get up. The WindClan demon had defeated her. Hopefully, someone else would stop her in her tracks. "Sorry, O-Otterleap...." she whispered tremblingly. "I-I'm s-s-sorry..."

"Losing their tempers? You're going to brush it off as that?" Fishstar snarled, teeth flashing. "Can you not hear? Can you not see? Take a good look at what your family did to mine! Those were needless, outright acts of cruelty. If one of my Clanmates did something sickening like that to one of your's, I would not hesitate to banish them from ever stepping on RiverClan territory again. Being leader is more than just caring for your Clan - It's knowing when to lay down the law, as well." The RiverClan leader raked her claws across Ashstar's flank one more time before being shaken off. "This isn't about pride. This isn't about wanting to push anybody around. This is about justice, which you're too afraid to dole out yourself. Grow a spine."

idk what i'm supposed to say here but the leap-and-hold damage continued through this turn soooo
