Stormy Night Continued [Open Clan Event]

Having met up with his kits, Tinylegs and the clan kept running and soon enough made it to the Moonlit Creek. Slowing to a stop, the small cat panted, not being used to running that far and fast. Looking around, his gaze landed on Moonlight and he gave her a faint smile, glad she was alright. Unlike the camp, the creek was extremely peaceful, although the rain was starting to get a bit annoying. "If everyone is alright, get the kits dry," he meowed to the cats near him. Now that they didn't have a camp, they couldn't afford to let any of the kits get sick, especially when they didn't have any place to stay for the time being.

Catching up with the rest of the clan, Antdrop let go of Crowstar's scruff and gave a small hiss of annoyance. Another cat had helped him drag the leader to the creek but with his thick pelt, it'd made it even more difficult to make it to their destination. Sitting down in the mud and not really caring that he was soaking wet, the warrior looked down at the leader. Shallow breathes were still visible but Crowstar's lack of movement worried the tom. Please be alright, he thought to himself, praying that his father was alright.

Moonlight smiled back at Tinylegs before nodding, quickly working on trying to gather the kits while looking for some kind of shelter where they, the queens and elders could stay for the time being, or until they found a better place around the area where to stay. The warriors and apprentices would need to endure the rain for a bit longer and help them get dry first. She shared Tinylegs’ thought after all and she didn’t need to be a Medicine Cat to figure things out. No camp meant no herbs, and no herbs meant no way to heal anyone if they got sick…Warriors and apprentices could pull through some minor illnesses while the medicine cats gathered the required hers to treat them, with their help, of course, but kits and elders wouldn’t be able to last that long if they fell ill.

Sunpaw was panting as she watched Antdrop her mentor drop Crowstar. She ran over to the nearest kit licking them all over to keep them warm.

Leafpaw was still shocked about Squirrelpaw. She could have died! a voice kept echoing in his head.

(Is it OK if I say that Tinylegs brought the unconscious Sagepaw to the Moonlit Creek? He's gotta wake up there and freak out.)

Slowly, Sagepaw blinked his eyes open. Around him was a muddle of voices, faces, sights, scents, all unfamiliar to him. What was going on? Where was he? Who were these cats? Why was he dripping wet? He knew nothing but his own name. Sagepaw. I'm Sagepaw. The tom looked around, confused and scared. There was a storm, and he was here in a group of strangers - he knew that much. Where had he been before? How did he get here? He had no idea about the answers to those questions. Everything around him was a complete mystery. What were these strange cats doing here? What were they going to do to him, on this stormy night? Not knowing this was his own Clan and family, he wasn't going to stick around to find out. Panic at an unfamilar situation began to set in, and Sagepaw ran, through the rain, soaked to the bone. He didn't know where he was, where he was going. He barely knew who he was anymore. But he kept running in fear, to wherever his paws would take him - and in doing so, leaving his Clan far behind.

Magpiepaw came to a halt at the creek. I'm alive. Good. That was about the extent her emotions went, despite having cheated death and in Sagepaw's case, amnesia. She was glad she had survived, yes, but she wasn't going to show it. If anything, she was mostly annoyed. The camp's destruction had been a setback to her training, and in turn, her plan.
She glanced around at Sagepaw began to run. He was acting like a lunatic! Why would he run like that, away from safety and his Clan? She knew he was sometimes a little ditzy, but this...this seemed odd. It was like he didn't even know who he was anymore. Well, no matter. She had better things to worry about than one clumsy tom. The black-and-white she-cat sunk into the shadow of one of the trees over the creek, in an effort to keep her fur from getting wetter than it was. She wore a scowl on her face, grumpy as anything.

Sunpaw stopped licking the kit and gazed at Sagepaw as he ran off leaving the clan behind. "Sagepaw!" She called getting to her feet. "Come back!" Sunpaw chased after him tripping over a few wet branches.

As soon as Crowstar was dropped on the ground by his son, Starclan restored his life. His eyes closed tighter and drew his limbs in a bit before his yellow eyes snapped open and the leader sat up quickly looking around trying to get knowledge of where he was. As soon as he saw this was Moonlit creek the leader relaxed slightly. He looked at Antdrop, guessing that from the mud that covered the black warrior a little more than everyone else that the warrior dragged him here. "Thank you.." He said softly to his son.

The leader stood shaking his pelt out slightly, looking stronger than before. A light sat in his eyes and the leader looked fuller than before. "Is everyone okay?" He asked in general. Hoping that everyone was here. He didn't see Snowstorm right away nor Poppysong... He hoped both of them were alright.. He hoped they weren't trapped in camp..

Rowanpaw went over to the creek and got a quick drink to refresh himself from all the running. He was glad they managed to make it. The orange and brown tom went over to Viperkit to help keep her warm. "Are you alright Viperkit?" The apprentice asked.

Vixenheart hadn't let Sparrowkit go this entire time, even when they had reached the Moonlit Creek. Her ginger-and-white paws guided her back and forth as she paced beside the creek, her amber eyes watching Crowstar as he woke up after losing a life. Was everyone really okay? There were even some cats that weren't here at the time. The deputy finally decided to place Sparrowkit down, gently, beside her own paws.
"Don't go running off." Vixenheart whispered to the kit that she had been carrying. She blinked, looking over in the direction that Sagepaw, her apprentice, had run off to. What was he doing?

Squirrelpaw had pressed against her brother Leafpaw on the entire trip to the Moonlit Creek. She was cold from the rain, and she felt like passing out from fear. She had almost died! And Crowstar had gotten rid of one of his lives for her. The tortoiseshell apprentice had been watching the leader as Antdrop set him down, and when he woke up, she raced over. Her amber eyes were wide and she broke out into an apology.
"Crowstar! I'm so so sorry, I should've been watching my surroundings. You lost a life because I acted really stupid!" The apprentice said, quickly. Her tail lashed as she silently mocked herself.
You acted like a kit tonight!

Antdrop gave a nod to his father, relieved that the tom was alright and would've never forgave himself if anything had happened to the leader. Looking around, he wondered where to help and made his way to Moonlight, a cat he was familiar with. "Anything I can help with?" the black tom asked, lifting his paws from the mud as if he were a kit kneading it's mother's belly.

Glad to see Moonlight helping with the kits, Tinylegs remember his own kits. "Cherrypaw! Sagepaw!" the small tom meowed, walking through the crowd and trying to find his kits. The rain plastered to his pelt was starting to get cold and the small tom shivered as he kept looking around. For some reason, Sagepaw's scent was very faint even though he'd just brought the apprentice here. Where in StarClan's name was he? Everyone looked the same with their pelts dark from the rain and it was hard to see anything at this hour. A couple times he'd slipped in the mud and his sides were covered in mud.

Starting to panic, Tinylegs kept looking and after a little while with no luck, he ran back to his mate. "Moonlight! Where's Sagepaw?" the exhausted tom meowed frantically. Mud weighing him down and the cold stiffening his joints, he didn't see the puddle of mud and with his small legs carrying him too fast, the tom slipped under his tail and slid a couple of foxlengths.

Falling into the creek that just so happened to have high water levels from the rain, the small tom let out a surprised yowl. Tired and confused, the small cat let out a panicked screech as he tried to stay afloat in the freezing water. Luckily for him the current wasn't going extremely fast, and he hadn't traveled very far, but with his short legs, swimming was almost impossible and he was already exhausted and unsure of how much longer he'd be able to stay afloat before the water swallowed him whole.

"Help!" he yowled as water rushed over his head. Coming up to the top of the water and just barely staying afloat, Tinylegs gasped for air, scared for his life. Was this his end?

Moonlight raised her ears when her mate spoke to him, turning her head at his direction “Sagepaw? I thought that he was with you?” Oh no…please dear StarClan, no…Moonlight stood up immediately, her eyes scanning the creek quickly as she looked around for her kit. He had to be with the rest of the clan, he had to be safe! Tinylegs’ screech, however, forced her to return his attention to the short-legged tom, and she felt a rush of panic as soon as he noticed the awful situation he was in.

Now, Moonlight was far to be the most skilled swimmer in the forest, and she was fully aware of this fact, but it was either take the risk or do nothing while her mate drowned. Without giving it much of a thought, Moonlight jumped inside the creek, going after the small white tom. Not being a RiverClan warrior and consequently not used to swim, she had some trouble to reach him, and even more to swim back to where the rest of the clan was. More than once she almost felt like if she wouldn’t be able to make it and is she forced herself to go on even with such pessimistic thoughts, was because she couldn’t just give up when Tinylegs’ life was on her paws.

When she reached land again, placing Tinylegs down, the exhaustion that her adrenaline rush had managed to block came crashing down upon the soaked she-cat. She allowed her aching body to go limp, her heart beating quickly against her chest as she coughed, her lungs trying to get rid of water she didn’t know she swallowed until then.

Viperkit purred towards Rowanpaw. The tomcat was certainly noble, and she agreed with that whole-heartedly. She nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine," she said. "Rowanpaw... thank you..." Viperkit kept nodding, looking around. She checked on each cat with her dark holly green eyes. She let out a mutter, furrowing her brow and shaking out her bushy tail. "Huh..." Viperkit paused, "Rowanpaw, do you know where Sagepaw is? I can't find him." Viperkit merely suspected Sagepaw might be hiding amongst the large crowd of gathered cats, all seeking refuge in the same haven - the shady old creek, its namesake the moonlight that would soon befall them. Searching with only her eyes, plucking out each individual pelt, she looked for Sagepaw. She managed to stay close to Rowanpaw... the tom that she trusted more than nearly anyone else. She spotted Magpiepaw glaring in a certain direction. Didn't she notice that Sagepaw wasn't here?

Cherrypaw bounded mournful to her father, her ears flat on her back. She gave Viperkit a sad look from under her half closed eyes, then spoke. It was so painful to try and find her words to break to her whole family, and the she-cat could only but try and guess their hurt faces. "Sagepaw... he's nowhere to be found...I lost him in the storm." 

Ghostpelt padded over. Seeing her father, laying in a crumpled heap she raced over. "Dad!!!" What had happened to her father while she went to go save Cherrypaw?

"I'm fine Ghostpelt." The leader said sitting up straight. "Just had to protect my clan that is all." Crowstar looked over when he heard a commotion realizing Tinylegs had fallen into the creek and Moonlight had saved him. The leader ignored his daughter for just a moment and rush over to his other son. "Tinylegs are you alright?" He asked worry laced in his voice.

Rowanpaw wrapped his tail around Viperkit at the news of Sagepaw not being found.. "That isn't good..." The apprentice said to Cherrypaw. "Don't worry, I'm sure when it reaches day time we can go look for him, but right now I think it would be best to stay with the clan. We don't need to worry the rest of them by going off on our own.." The brown and orange tom tried to reassure the two cats.
