New Moon [Final DF TOPIC]

Blackpaw did not hear the whispers from above him, but his ears pricked uneasily. Every part of him was overwhelmed with fear, gaze cast away from nearly all cats around him. Blackpaw had been born as a follower of StarClan, striving to do what he thought was right. He flexed his claws. What if I'm wrong? Blackpaw fretted mentally. What if I'm the bad guy, and this is all my fault in the end? Blackpaw's ears draped with sorrow. He had never viewed himself as the most perfect, splendid cat in the world, however, what if he could contribute to stopping a fight from breaking out?

Mouse's whiskers twitched. "StarClan? Warrior ancestors?" she repeated, puzzled, looking at the rogue that dpoke those terms with such confidence and belief.

"Are you alright?" Stormpaw asked his cousin. He noticed that Blackpaw seemed disturbed by something. Sure, a lot of cats in the clearing looked disturbed or distracted by something, but Blackpaw's sudden change in expression concerned Stormpaw. The gray apprentice's eyes had scanned nearly ever corner of the clearing, just to check for anything unusual, but had seen nothing. Nothing besides the gloominess of the clearing that everyone could clearly notice. The handful of apprentices that were chattering away about something happening were probably right, and if they were right, it would come like a surprise. Whether the surprise was good or bad was up to fate.

"Ah! I'm... I'm fine." Blackpaw's eyes widened for a split moment, followed by a hoot of surprise. Blackpaw did not shrink back, yet returned Stormpaw's worried gaze with his own. "Don't worry about me," Blackpaw urged, tail entwined around his body. The apprentice, who's posture was rather meek, swallowed back fear. I'm absolutely, positively fine..." Blackpaw's voice was hushed, mostly because he was entitled to being silent. He blinked, a stressed smile appearing on his face as he exhaled. "Yep, fine..." It didn't take a magical cat to figure out something was odd.

Stormpaw shook his head, "Repeating the words 'I'm fine' usually means that something is up. What's wrong?" He asked, tilting his head.
It was probably every body else's problem. Stormpaw tried to stop himself from looking worried and concerned, and his gazs softened to something calm.

Blackpaw sighed, voice shaking. "I just feel like something will go wrong." Blackpaw admitted, tone solemn. "I don't exactly want it to..." Blackpaw's mew trailed off, then he laughed a bit. "And I haven't had enough training just yet."

"Yeah...I have that same feeling too...but if something does happen, just trust your instincts and fight. And if you need help I'm here for you." He said, nudging Blackpaw playfully to lighten the mood. His tail swished across the ground back and forth, a nervous habit he had, but a smile spread on his maw to not just assure Blackpaw but to assure himself too.

"Ah, thank you," Blackpaw purred, touching his muzzle to Stormpaw's own. He noticed the little glint in Stormpaw's eyes, and was immediately reassured, not noticing the nervous thrashing of Stormpaw's tail.

ooc: Guys chill on the posting, seriously the topic is at 5 pages t the moment and we aren't even to the main event. Also Rogues and Loners don't belong at gathers so Mouse and Night shouldn't even be there, and they aren't there. So a rogue group cannot attack. The Rogue group doesn't even know what is going to happen. Night can come in with the exiles but cannot sit n spy.

Kestrelstorm scanned his green eyes across the clearing for his son. The tom had two new kits now, but often times he worried about his son under Saltpelt's leadership. He had never cared for the she-cat, and she was no Falconstar. Did Saltpelt take his abandonment out on his son? Sadly, the warrior could not find him. It shouldn't be so difficult. They were both still part of the tallest cats in the forest. He should stick out like a sore thumb.

Lionsong's pelt gleamed in the moon light. Pent up murder desires boiled inside her, but tonight was a gathering. A night of peace with the Dark Forest, which was something of an oxymoron, but it was a tradition. The she-cat sat back, bumping into an apprentice but paying no attention to what it causes.

Morningstar hadn't moved the entirety of the gathering. A silent shadow, unwavering. There was no sign that he was alive, his chest did not move and his tail stayed high. The tom's eyes glittered like embers. There was a long moment as the last leader stepped down. It was only then did the still creature move. The muscles under his pelt showed easily, a brutish cat. He easily stood taller than the others, muzzle held high in the air. "Cats of all clans, it has been a moon since you chose your side." Morningstar's eyes lowered down to watch the cats below. "This moon has been the most productive moon the clans have ever seen. Much more had been done without that so called StarClan." His voice practically echoed off of the oak trees. "It was not their power-- but your own." The leader's tail swished from one side to the next. "You made this moon great through perseverance, skill and most importantly-- Leadership." His eyes glanced toward the leaders with a pleased look. "Let us make this next one even better."

Coldpaw got up from her spot next to Blackpaw and went over to her father. "Dad, something doesn't feel right.." The fluffy white she cat meowed her icy blue eyes wide and looking at her father.

Shadowpaw curled her thin sleek black tail around her sleek black pelt and her unusually bright leaf green eyes glowed in the corner she was in.

Badgerpaw flicked his tail and fluffed his white and black spotted pelt. His gray eyes watched the leaders up on top of the great rock.

Rainpaw licked a silver paw and drew it over his ear. Then he shuffled closer to his sister and wrapped his tail around her. The silver Bengal's icy blue eyes were locked onto the sky.

Plumpaw's black tail wrapped around her brothers tail and her pale blue eyes were on the leaders.

Blackpaw had recently begun to wonder wether the Dark Forest was the right choice or not. He had never heard of StarClan... Not even as a kit. But he was a curious apprentice, and now, his pelt rippled with unease, tail unmoving and still. He then noticed Coldpaw, who had shifted her movements closer to her father. Blackpaw twitched at her chilling words. "You're right, Coldpaw," Blackpaw agreed, blood-curdling images flashing and swirling in his mind. "This Gathering will be much different."

Blackpaw looked as serious and blatant as ever, eyes piercing into Coldpaw's own as if this was a very serious matter. And in reality, it would sprout into one. Blackpaw was scared outright about how Morningstar could speak so nonchalantly about this. Blackpaw uttered a small whimper under his breath, one that nearly showed how unbearable this would be for Blackpaw. Yet on the outside he attempted to make it appear like he was perfectly calm, as if not a single hair on his pelt would be shred that night. Mouse-brain! he thought, I won't get hurt.

Nightpaw stood silent during all of the leader’s speeches, but as soon as Morningstar decided to speak the fur on her back stood on end with mixed emotions, and none of them positive. Anger, hatred, disgust and a small bit of fear. She immediately started to groom her fur in an attempt to hide this though, trying to make it look casual, this place was flooded with Dark Forest followers and ghosts, this wasn’t the right time to let them know her true feelings…she already had a scar over her eye as a constant reminder of the first time she dared to show her hatred for them, and she knew that doing it again, especially now, would only get her killed.

Blizzardshine smiled at Scorchfrost and bowed her head politely at him as he joined his secret group of rebels, in which she was included. Her eyes constantly traveled from the leaders to Featherpaw and Meadowpaw, her apprentices. She had a bad feeling, something was telling her that something about this gathering wasn’t just right, just like when the Dark Forest took over, and she didn’t want anything bad to happen to the two young cats. Her calm and cheerful gaze returned to the leaders as soon as she heard Morningstar’s voice, not really surprised to see him there.

Moonlight listened to the leaders carefully, but as soon as Morningstar decided to speak she couldn’t help but feel a chill run down her spine. She didn’t need to be a genius to understand why even Crowstar bowed down to him. His aura was dark and dense, enough to make her feel intimidated, and his fiery gaze and echoing voice were more than enough to show his power.

Owlpaw smiled as Amberclaw sat next to him, feeling a lot more comfortable with his mentor around. He didn’t want to be rude though, and his attention focused mainly on listening to the leaders as they took their turns to speak. He had to admit that he was starting to consider gatherings to be a bit boring, as there were no interesting discussion topics or action. Oh well…at least it was a sign that the clans were doing fine, right? As soon as Morningstar spoke he puffed out his chest, proud to be part of the Dark Forest. He was ready to be named warrior under their rule, and grow stronger after each passing day.

Scorchfrost looked at Coldpaw silently, his yellowish eyes hardened. He could not reveal anything, especially during a gathering. Not even to his own child. To Coldpaw, he was a strong, steady deputy under the Dark Forest. One day, he hoped she would understand. Today was not that day, unfortunately. "Leave everything to me, my dear. Have some faith in your father, eh?" He looked back up, his attention on the gathering. Patience was a virtue he had learned well. He could bide his time. It wouldn't be long now. 

Cherryface was sure to stand tall above her living SkyClan clanmates. She licked her paws every once in a while to keep them clean and beautiful to match the rest of her perfect body. She relished in the siege of the clan that her killers had belonged to, and she made a point to show it, hooting and yowling loudly at Morningstar's remarks.
