New Family [Open]

Softkit stared up in awe at her father as he told the riveting story. She wriggled a bit in excitement as his story went on. She jumped slightly and grinned when he meowed excitedly about the rabbit jumping. She meowed gleefully when he finished his story and said he had killed it, and that it was just waiting to be eaten by their family. How amazing that would be, to eat the biggest rabbit in WindClan! "Oh yes, Dad," Softkit whispered excitedly. "I would love to have some! May we please?" Softkit turned her blissful gaze toward her sister, wondering if Nightkit was as excited as her.

Breezeheart listened in on the story. Her mate made it seem pretty exciting. If only all hunting went like that. Most of the time it just left the small black warrior tired, and sometimes winded. Though being small meant she was fast, and one of the better hunters in the clan. "Hmmm... I don't know.. Looking after you guys leaves me pretty hungry. I might eat that whole rabbit myself." She said in a joking manner. "Of course you two can have some."

Nightkit listened to the story, her tail quickly moving from side to side as she shuffled her paws, in her mind, she was with her father, in the wide open moor, instead of inside the nursery in camp. When he reached the point of killing the rabbit she almost gave a small jump on her place, her tiny heart beating quickly inside her chest with excitement.

As soon as a bite was mentioned, her eyes landed on her mother, and though her sister beat her to ask what she already had in her head, her eyes were more than enough to know that she wanted to taste the rabbit as well just as much as Softkit.

“Please mommy? Please, please, please?” Nightkit made the cutest face she could when her mother playfully acted hesitant about sharing the rabbit, and almost bolted out of the nursery with an excited yowl as soon as she said yes “I’m going to help dad to bring the rabbit!”.

Giving his mate a lick on the cheek, he followed Nightkit out of the nursery and over to the freshkill pile. "Here it is!" He exclaimed, dragging the large rabbit off the pile and in front of his kit. "How about you carry a leg, and I'll carry the front?" Cedarfur meowed with a smile, grabbing the rabbit's scruff. He knew he'd carry most of the weight, but if Nightkit felt like she had a role and was happy, then he'd be happy.

Softkit stayed with her mother as her adventurous sister and inspiring father went out to get their dinner. She snuggled up to her mother's side, purring contentedly. "Dad's a really good hunter, huh, Mom?" Her eyelids slid halfway shut. "I bet you're just as good too. Can you and Dad teach me to be brave and hunt like you guys?"
