Sedgekit and Blizzardkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Darkstar hopped up to her makeshift Highrock and called out. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a clan meeting!"

Gentlenose padded out of the nursery, ushering her kits out with her. She gave them each a final lick, making sure their fur was smooth and neat. "You'll both do great," she murmured before nudging them towards Darkstar.

Blizzardkit walked…or actually more like bounced towards the improvised Highrock, not even paying attention to the licks that her mother was giving to her, when in other situations she would try to get away from them.

Sedgekit grew nervous, what if his mentor wouldn't train him or wouldn't be nice? He looked up at Darkstar, his mother's licks made him feel better.

Jayflight padded out with Gentlenose, he smiled and sat down.

Scorchfrost lumbered up to watch the kits become apprentices. Gentlenose's child amused him the most, but Blizzardkit's kit days had come to a close. He smiled at his friend Jayflight. He wondered how those little sister of his were doing...

Gentlenose twined her tail around Jayflight's, watching her kits. "I'm so proud of them..." she purred. Her gaze flickered over to Scorchfrost as he joined the gathering group of cats. Would her previous apprentice get Blizzardkit or Sedgekit as his first apprentice? Gentlenose enjoyed the thought of Scorchfrost, a capable young warrior, training one of her kits. As far as Gentlenose knew, he would make a great mentor.

Sedgekit's heart beat with excitement, what if his father or mother were! Training would be awesome that way.

Jayflight nodded "I'm proud too, they have been so happy and excited for this" he mewed with a smile.

The she-cat gazed down at the kits for a moment, glancing to their parents for a mere heartbeat. "Sedgekit and Blizzardkit, you have both reached the age of six moons and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth until you receive your warrior names, you shall be known as Sedgepaw and Blizzardpaw, and your mentors shall be Scorchfrost and Jayflight. May their knowledge pass on to the both of you." Giving the former Skyclan tom his own daughter to teach might be risky, but it would be the easiest was to determine his worth.

Blizzardpaw immediately rushed in front of her dad and almost stood up on her hind legs in her attempt to reach his nose. She no longer was worried about trying to behave at all, she finally was an apprentice! And her dad was her mentor! Could this day get any better?! Of course…with warrior training! She simply couldn’t wait.

Gentlenose nudged Jayflight softly as Darkstar called his name. "That'll be exciting," she purred before looking down at her daughter. "You'll be a great apprentice," she praised, giving her lick before padding towards Scorchfrost. "Keep my son out of trouble, won't you? I won't be able to keep such a close eye on the little rascal anymore," she placed her trust in her former apprentice, knowing he'd do as she asked.

Sedgepaw bounced towards his mentor "When will we start training!" he mewed excitedly.

Jayflight purred at Gentlenose and touched noses to his apprentice/daughter, he padded over to Gentlenose again "Ya, I think he's just a little bit of a furball"

Scorchfrost touched his nose to Sedgepaw. "I won't be easy on you just because you're Jayflight and Gentlenose's kit, you know. We start tomorrow. Be prepared to wake up at dawn." He nudged the smaller tom's shoulder. He wanted to shape his first apprentice into a fine warrior, a finer warrior than he could've ever been. He let a brief smile cross his mouth and break his hardened facade for a second. It was sort of nice to have an apprentice, so young and full of life.
