The first patrol [Open]

Tulippaw jumped into the trees and knocked off a squirrel, bouncing off Thinstripe's shoulders "Sorry!" she called

The older warrior purred with amusement and grabbed the squirrel. She dropped it in the pile and put over the Earth's dirt over it to cover it.

As Featherpaw drew closer to the bushes, the scent of sparrows grew overwhelming. She stopped and drew a deep breath to calm herself. As she let it out slowly she felt the cares of the world fade away and slipped easily into a hunter's crouch. Featherpaw slid stealthily forward, taking care not to rustle the grass or step on any twigs. Soft steps and and ever-closer chirps became her world until a sudden leap shattered the world in a roar of wings. As the flock scattered, Featherpaw padded triumphantly back to the others, her prize hanging limp from her mouth. "One more for the pile!" she meowed around her mouthful of feathers.

Scorchpaw tipped his head to Featherpaw. "Nice catch!" he said to her, a little smirk crossing his face. He pushed into the area around where a vole was feeding on something. He lightly stepped forward, letting the breeze blow his scent the other way. He quickly pounced, slamming his paws down on the animal as it let out a pathetic squeal. He picked it up and returned to the group.

Thinstripe nodded at the two catches "Good job guys" she mewed happily.

Tulippaw jumped down from the trees next to featherpaw

After catching three birds and a mouse, Frozenflame returned to the patrol and dropped his catch with the others. "I think we have plenty now, and it's getting dark. Shall we head back or stay out for a bit longer?" The tom asked.

"I think it would be best to go" she agreed turning around and picking up her kill she began to walk back.

Tulippaw picked up her kill and padded behind Thinstripe

Scorchpaw picked up his kill and walked close to Thinstripe.

Featherpaw padded after the others, smiling around her sparrow. She had forgotten the simple joys of being with cats she could trust, of hunting for her Clan... She had been away from this life for too long. A shadow crossed her face as she wished that Ivypaw could have shared all of this. No, just enjoy the evening, she halfheartedly reprimanded herself. It's what Ivypaw would have wanted. Featherpaw pressed closer to her father as she remembered the good times she had shared with her sister.
