A Good Night For A Patrol [OPEN]

The recently returned black warrior stretched in his nest, staring out at the soft moonlight streaming through the den's entrance. The moon would be at it's peak by now, the perfect time for a patrol. As one of the eldest warriors, Magpiewing took it upon himself to lead another patrol. Standing up and shaking moss from his fur, he headed out into the moonlight.

The clan was already up and going about their daily lives. Magpiewing's amber eyes scanned the clearing, searching for his new apprentice. After no sign of the she-cat, he opted to call out instead of searching for much longer. "Icepaw! It's time for a patrol!" he yowled, avoiding the sudden eyes on him. "Anyone else, feel free to join!" the tom added.

Icepaw ran towards her mentor as soon as she heard him call. "I'm here!" She mewed excitedly.

Mosspaw stumbled out of the apprentice den, sleep drunk, but otherwise still willing to join a patrol considering she's been out barely this moon. Her duties mainly had involved the usual gathering dry moss or bring fresh kill to the elders and queens. She was ready to actually patrol and learn all the sights and scents. "I'd like to join!" She meowed, walking up to the amber eyed warrior and standing next to her fellow clanmate, Icepaw.

Owlpaw was next to emerge from the Apprentices' Den. She shot a glare to her cousin, Mosspaw, who had rudely awaken her with her stirring in her nest. Her ears careened at a patrol call. Drowsily, she debated silently whether she should catch up on her apprentice duties that she was so far behind on, or catch a few butterflies in her sleep. Bunching her whiskers, she ambled quietly over to Magpiewing. "I'll join," she muttered under her breath.

Mudfoot sat in the camp clearing, one eye open, one closed. He watched the group of cats gather, wondering whether to join. Better now than never. He smiled and padded over to the cats. "Mind if I tag along?" The charming tom said happily, looking around to see if Patchpaw or Barkpaw wanted to come.

Dunepaw looked at the patrol, and decided to join. He also didn't want to wake up Barkpaw. He scrambled out of the apprentince's den. "I'll come!" he said as he joined the others.

Magpiewing, content with just Icepaw, jumped as a flood of cats came up to him and his apprentice. He smiled at his little sister, son, and young cousin as well as a apprentice he had not yet been acquainted with. "Looks like there are enough of us. Follow me," the warrior meowed and slipped through the bramble entrance. He shuffled through the snow, the cold nipping at his paws and nose. He wasn't one for Leafbare, much preferring the wet weather of Newleaf. He glanced back to make sure the patrol kept up. It would be a simple border patrol, but maybe him and Mudfoot could teach the new apprentices a thing or two about hunting.

Mosspaw followed behind Magpiewing, green eyes looking around wildly like she didn't want to miss a single sight as she crossed the snow covered territory. Only recently apprenticed, the she-cat wasn't having an easy time wriggling through snow, but the ginger tabby refused to complain. Instead she worked extra hard, scrabbling madly to keep up with everyone in the thick snow.

Mudfoot gave a nod to his father and followed along. He trotted up next to Magpiewing and gave a purr. "So what are you planning to do with all these apprentices?" The charming tom chuckled. He loved the frosty air, the crunch of snow under his paws, being with his family. Today was perfect.
