Happy Hearts, Sad Souls

Bluepaw stared absently at the fresh kill pile. She had such a happy heart with Marshpaw around, but she was still sad. She missed Roaringpaw dearly and knew he wouldn't come back to her. Her father and mother were dead. Bluepaw shook her head. She felt happy enough to have Marshpaw around. Bluepaw sat and got up.

OOC: Hope this is open

IC: Marshpaw saw Bluepaw sad everyday. She was so mopey. He felt terrible. Her brother was dead somewhere in the River. Her parents were dead too. If his parents were dead, he'd be mortified. He tried to remember who his father was, but he'd forgotten because the last time he'd seen him was when he was a mere kit, just three moons old.

"Hi, Bluepaw." Marshpaw said. maybe something he planned for that day would cheer her up. He'd found a rose that was made of something we truly didn't know. But it didn't wilt, and he'd been keeping it for two weeks now. "I have another surprise for you."

OOC: Ya it is. Forgot to mention that XD

IC: Bluepaw looked wearily over her shoulder and her eyes brightened a bit. She turned around slowly to face Marshpaw. She forced all her upsetting thoughts to the back of her mind.
"What's your next big surprise?" She purred.

"First, it's a question. But I guess it's part of the surprise..." He said quietly. He trotted behind the den to grab the strange rose. (it's a plastic rose he found.) He carried it in his mouth and walked back over to her. "I have a very important question." He said as he dropped the beautiful rose at her paws.

OOC: I'm gonna ask to be mates when they're warriors, or now, you decide

OOC: You can decide. If he asks now, they'd become official mates when they're made warriors

IC: Bluepaw watched him carefully. Curiosity consumed her.
"What type of question?" she asked with wide eyes She saw the rose and she stared blankly.

"Bluepaw... Will you be my mate?" He asked, his eyes pleaded with hope and calm. Whether or not she said yes, they'd always be best friends.

Bluepaw stared at him. Her mouth agape.
"Marshpaw.." she stammered," of course."

Marshpaw smiled. "Oh, I'm so glad." He said, and licked her cheek.He smiled, putting his paw on hers. "I have loved you since I've known you, Bluepaw. You're the most beautiful and wonderful cat I've ever met."

Bluepaw blushed and nuzzled his cheek.
"Since the moment I saw you as a tiny kit in the nursery," she whispered jokingly," I knew I'd love you."
Her last part was one of the most serious things ever.

"Bluepaw," he started, ready to explain the rose. "I've had this rose for moons. Since I picked it, it's never wilted. Maybe it will be a symbol- for us." He said, his heart a flutter.

Bluepaw purred and took the rose.
"I bet so," she mewed quietly.

Marshpaw smiled and purred. He licked her cheek again. "I'm the luckiest tom in the forest." He purred.

Bluepaw smiled and touched noses with him.
"And I'm the luckiest she-cat."
