Willowpaw was looking for Yarrow. She spotted some and padded towards it. It smelled just like Wisteriapaw had shown her, but it smelled funny. She carefully sniffed it, but it didn't seem harmless, so she bit off as much as she could carry, and brought it back to camp being careful not to get the sap in her mouth.

OoC: Summer, this topic was meant for a patrol led by me to check if there was yarrow. There's danger though, so it won't be that simple. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but I'm going to have to restart it.

Condorclaw led his patrol of able-bodied warriors/apprentices to the river, a number not nearly as large as it should've been. Then again, if it was, this wouldn't be necessary. Upon reaching the area, the warrior halted and tasted the air. There was an unfamiliar scent in the air: not necessarily a problem, but there was no reason to be reckless. "Keep an eye out for any yarrow you can find," he mewed to the patrol, glancing around as he spoke. "But be careful."

OoC2: Any able-bodied RiverClan warriors or apprentices can join.

Whitefoot kept close to the patrol leader, sensing tension in the air he nodded silently. Keeping his amber eyes peeled for the life saving plant his clan so desperately needed.

Barrenpaw trotted along at the end of the group, but then made his way to the front so that he was next to Whitefoot, one of his two friends. "What does it look like?" The sort of newly-appointed apprentice asked. Hey, it wasn't his fault. Nobody could expect Barrenpaw to become a medicine cat in one day. It wasn't his business to memorize the look of Yarrow, let alone even know what it was for that matter.

Unfortunately for the fox in question, cats were not entirely similar to birds. With the clan looking for any yarrow they could find, it was highly likely that Willowpaw's sudden disappearance would not go unnoticed. Condorclaw was the first to notice. "Willowpaw!" He shouted to alert the rest of his patrol, then quickly ran and dived for the fox, trying to get the apprentice out of its salivating jaws. Luckily enough, the fox seemed more intent on slipping away, so the experienced warrior was able to get over and land a kicking blow with his hind legs, right into the fox's abdomen.

Willowpaw tried to let out a scream of terror but her voice didn't work. She watched helpless as Condorclaw fought the fox.

Surprised by the cat's vicious kick, the fox dropped the young she-cat from his maw, letting her fall to the pebbly ground so that he could respond in turn. His orange fur bristled in annoyance at the cat's defiant actions, he wasn't used to prey fighting back quite so hard. A deep snarl rumbled within it's chest in warning before he tackled the tom and snapped. His canines tearing into the cats shoulder, missing the neck by only inches. It was no accident he missed, it was him giving the cat one last chance to leave. A peaceful outcome for both, he got the she-cat to eat, and the tom got his life.

A wave of fear rippled over the apprentice. It was time to see if he was actually better at fighting then hunting, as he had always thought. With a ear-piercing battle cry, Barrenpaw sprung onto the attacker's back and slashed at the fox while he pinned it down, hoping to buy some time for the other members of the patrol to recover for a few seconds while he had the fox pinned.

Whitefoot snarled as cats leapt and tried their luck at fighting the beast. Crouching he fluffed out his fur, narrowing his amber eyes he sought out his move, taking the opportunity from Barrenpaw. He raced forward with unsheathed claws and began violently slashing at the foxes side. Blood spattered and soaked his ginger and white fur.

Condorclaw yowled in pain, blood pouring from his shoulder as he gritted his teeth. That front leg felt on fire, but it wasn't time to give in now. They weren't out of the pond yet. Ready for round two, and with his patrol taking some of the pressure off of him, he was able to whip around and place another well-intended kick into the fox's side.
