Flamestripe awkwardly dipped his head to Duskfall. "Sorry, I have to go get one of the kits as well." He turned around and faced Cloverpool. "Cloverpool, excuse me for handling Minnowkit so gruffly. That was almost cruel." He dipped his head to his cousin's mate and slipped into the nursery again. He sought out Rookkit, his own daughter, and lifted her into the air.

"I'm sorry about this, Rookkit, but you must come with Duskfall, Specklefur, and I to the leader's den. I suspect Spottedstar will want to hear your side of the story." He went back to Specklefur and nodded. "Rookkit and I are ready."

Rookkit squeaked a little as her father picked her up. She remained quiet as he carried her to the leader's den. She stared at the other cats with her eyes wide.

Cloverpool picked up Minnowkt and swept her into the nursery and set her down gently in her best along with Goldenkit and Snowkit.
