Specklefur wasn't one to know how to comfort another cat when they're hurt mentally, let alone try to help a whole group of cats at once! But she had to do something when there was a heavy and dark cloud over the camp with the death of so many loved ones, it was sad and it got everyone down, hunting patrols didn't bring as much prey back and border patrols often lost more skirmishes if there were.

Inhaling a sharp breath Specklefur puffed out her chest and bit back whatever of her temper she could, this was easy for her. None of these cats where friends or loved ones she could mourn over, she made it part of her duty to get all the cats fed until they all looked like heavily pregnant queens that often rested on the sunning rocks soaking up their warmth, where they were happy and content.

Clearing her throat she got to her paws, giving the hot sun a chance to warm her long fur. It was early in the morning which was perfect for a large patrol or such, walking towards the warriors den the senior warrior called out with her signature raspy and old-like voice. "Alright all of you get up! You are all going to go onto a patrol; a border one or hunting patrol to majority's choice! Deputy or not I'm going to be the one to order you around for this! Get your apprentices too!" Specklefur couldn't keep some hint of humour from her voice as she pulled her head out of the den.

Striding to the apprentices den with a subtle limp from her previous seasons the she-cat gave another raspy order. "Echopaw, Tigerpaw get your furry butts up! We're going on a patrol!" That was all she had said before turning to the center of camp and sitting beside the fresh-kill pile. Gesturing it to each warrior and apprentice that approached.

Fawnpaw, who's 3 relatives had previously died, woke up in the the apprentices den at the loud call. "What's going on?" She mewed and got up curiously.

Stormstrike, who had been sitting in the warriors den and talking with Soaringwing, stood up at Specklefur's call. "We might as well go, Soaringwing. It's better then getting our heads ripped off for not listening to her," she purred amusingly as the two padded out of the den. She stopped by the exit at her father's nest and shook him awake. "Come on, dad, you need some fresh air." Frozenflame had kept himself cooped up in the warrior's den ever since Blazingheart had died.

Soaringwing laughed at Stormstrike's joke about Specklefur. "Yeah. It'd be good to get active. I say we go on a hunting patrol." He followed the she-cat out of the den and he stretched in the warm sunshine. "Viperpaw, let's go," the tom purred into his den.

Frozenflame groaned as he was woken up by his daughter. "Fine," he grumbled as he got up and followed them out. "Turtlepaw, come on," he said, calling into the apprentice's den.

Fawnpaw had not seen Lavenderwish in a few days, but seeing her father and brother, purred and joined them

Echopaw blinked her eyes open, staring out and slightly glaring at Specklefur's disappearing rump. "Fine." she mumbled, dragging herself up. She stretched her slowly developing muscles and walked out into the camp, seeing all the depressed cats. So much death, but none had quite effected her. She didn't know many cats and she was kinda distant from being all cuddly with the rest of her clan. She would do her duty and that was it. She gathered close to her mentor, waiting to see the rest of whatever patrol it was. She looked to the fresh kill pile, but didn't get anything. She was smaller than some bigger cats but was just average, and not hungry. She never had much appetite despite her brothers huge one. She looked at her mothers den, where she rarely came out, which was depressing also to the clan. Ever since her first loss of life and the whole clan turning to Duskfall, she didn't seem to want to show. Echopaw wondered what was keeping her closed up.

Foxfang rose from his nest in the warrior's den at Specklefur's call. He understood how the other cats felt with the almost unending chain of losses. He himself had lost all his littermates, including the former deputy, Flameclaw. Although this hadn't been recent, it still pained his heart. The large tom joined the gathering group of cats around Specklefur and stood next to her. "I can see it," he purred, amused at how so many cats would come if she called. "Deputy Specklefur, leading Thunderclan to greatness,"

Robinflight couldn't suppress a tired groan at the sound of Speckelfur's loud and commanding voice. No... I'm too tired... Many of her denmates flooded out of the warriors' den and she sat, yawned, and then stretched before following them out. The calico gave her thick pelt a quick shake and then began grooming herself to smooth down the ruffled fur from disturbed sleep. Like her sister, she hadn't lost anyone of serious consequence in the last several moons; not unless you counted Spottedstar's first life lost, but her mother never paid much mind to her so her absence wasn't too painful for Robinflight. She made her way to Echopaw's side and gently headbutted her shoulder in a friendly greeting.

Cloverpaw got up and stretched. She nudged Sunnitpaw and Meadowpaw. "Come guys get up I'll go get Sunpelt." Cloverpaw made her way over to the Warriors den and went inside to wake up Sunpelt. "Sunpelt wake up." She meowed and proded him gently with a paw.

Summitpaw opened his eyes as his soon-to-be-aunt prodded him with a paw. He yawned and stretched and made sure his sister was awake. "Come on les see what Cloverpaw wants." He meowed stifling a yawn.
