Coal's Forbidden birth giving (closed)

Coalspirit had felt a somewhat painful kick that meant it was time. She had already been padding out into the territory to a secret spot to give birth knowing she would soon. She managed to make it to the sheltered spot before she laid on the ground. She managed to take the herb she needed to take quirtly before she felt a strong sense of pain. She closed her eyes some in pain.

Soaringwing couldn't find Coalspirit. He had searched camp and the territory, when he remembered the spot she had showed him where she was going to give birth to the kits. Traveling through the trees like he usually did, Soaringwing quickly made his way to the secret spot. "Coalspirit," he said as he jumped down from a branch and raced over to her. He found a stick on the ground and gave it to his mate to bite down on. The tabby licked her cheek and sat down. "Am I supposed to do anything?" He asked, wanting to help out with the birth.

"J....just clean the kits up when they come " She mewed quietly grabbing the stick quietly.soon she felt a strong pain and she bit down on the stick hard. Soon a kit came out and she let out a small breathe but it didn't last long she bit hard in the stick in pain

Soaringwing nodded and gently picked up a kit as it came out. He delicately licked it, cleaning it as it squirmed around and let out cries every once in a while. "The first one's a girl," he purred, smiling at the child.

The first born she-kit was a quiet one, only letting out wails every so often. She squirmed as a big pink tongue rasped over her body. It was comforting in a way, but she could tell that the tongue didn't belong to her mom and this upset her.

Coalspirit smiled some but not long after another spasm of pain crawled through her and she bit down on the stick as another kit came out a tom kit.

Soaringwing softly moved the she-cat to the moss next to Coalspirit, then picked up the tom. "It's a boy," he said quietly as he started to lick this one. He smiled at him; Soaringwing had always wanted a son.

The she-cat gave out a cry as she was moved. She wanted to be licked again. The smell of milk called to her and she crawled over to her mother's stomach. As she drank, she could tell that there was another kit, because she heard wails somewhere close by.

The tom kit let out strong loud mews as he was licked. He squirmed as the locks continued.

Meanwhile Coalspirit felt there was one last kit she bit down on the stick just as the last kit came out. She broke the stick as she bit down hard before she relaxed some.

Soaringwing placed the clean tom kit down next to the first born and picked up the last born. "This one is a she-cat," he said to Coalspirit, licking the kit clean. He gave a sigh of happiness at his family as he finished cleaning the kitten and put her next to her siblings. He then laid down next to his mate and the kits. "They are beautiful," he purred. "We need to name them."

The tabby kitten inherited her father's tabby pattern and her dead uncle's (Redpaw's) bright yellow eyes, though her's were still closed because she was just born. Something about her...maybe her face...also was like Redpaw's and she slightly resembled a raccoon in her shape.

Coalspirit purred quietly"yes they are " she purred softly looking down at their kits."Yes we do need to name them " she mewed. She looked to the first born sewing she resembled a raccoon somewhat how about Racconkit....for the first born " she mewed looking to her mate.

Soaringwing nodded. "Thats a good name for her," he purred. His gaze landed on the tom. "How about Swampkit for this one? His fur is a murky brown color like a murky swamp," he suggested as he pointed to the second born with his paw.

Coalspirit smiled " I love the name " she mewed smiling some before looking to last born."how about Swirlkit for her swirl like tabby pattern " she mewed.

Soaringwing agreed with Coalspirit. "That's a suitable name for her," he purred as he stared at the three with joy in his eyes. "W...what do we do now?" he asked. Soaringwing had never been a parent before, so he had no idea what to do.

"We take care of them until we figure a way to get them into camp without raising suspicion " She said looking at him.

It was starting to get dark and the sun's dying rays turned a pink and orange color as it crawled down the horizon. Soaringwing ran over all the kits' names in his head, hoping he wouldn't forget them. Raccoonkit, Swampkit, Swirlkit, Raccoonkit, Swampkit, Swirlkit, Raccoonkit...he suddenly stopped, his heart dropping as he remembered about predators which lurked around the territory at night. Raccoons, owls, badgers, and foxes. What if one takes the kits while we are sleeping? Thought the tom nervously. "I'll guard while you keep them warm," Soaringwing told Coalspirit as he stood up and shook the moss from his long, brown, tabby fur and stood guard near-by. "If you want, we can take turns, but I think you need your sleep after giving birth to kits."

So, Raccoonkit was her name. The she-cat was still suckling for milk, starting to get drowsy as she felt the presence of her dad slip away. She pushed against her litter mates, fighting to get the best spot as the sun went down.

Coalspirit looked at him " ok " she said quietly curling around the kits.

Swampkit fought for the best spot soon getting it he relaxed.

Swirlkit slept quietly
