Dapplepaw sniffed the air, scenting a mouse. She looked around, and discovered it was nearby. The apprentice was almost to the prey, when her mentor padded out of the bushes. "Hey Coalheart." she meowed.

Coalheart scented Dapplepaw, and followed her trail. She stepped out of the bushes in the area her apprentice was in. Coalheart dipped her head. "Hello, Dapplepaw. Are you ready for battle training?" the gray she-cat meowed. Just then, a twig snapped behind them, and both the cats' heads swung around to see who or what was behind them.
