Patcheye and the microscopic killer

The calico got to her paws, sun filtering into the den, other cats forms still lay peacefully, without thought she emerged once again from the den, a cough leaving her maw but paid no mind towards it. She was greeted by the wind brushing against her fur, Patcheye glided her pink, spiked tongue against her fur, collecting and rejecting long strands of fur. The she-cat slowly began padding out of camp, only to be greeted by a strange feeling, making her wretch and dispel of her digested food, her vision immediately blurred, her head tingling, as she turned around she lost her footing and tumbled violently, only causing her to wretch increasingly, "S-Shadeheart!" she tried to yowl but only came a whisper, her claws began to scrabble at the ground as she tried to move towards the medicine cats den.

Bristlepaw had already found himself a nice rabbit to much on for the first meal of the day, when he saw his mentor stumble. "Patcheye!" He cried, and bolted away from his to-be meal, then to his mentor. "Patcheye! Patcheye! Are you alright? Do I need to get Shadeheart?" That last question didn't need to be answered. He bolted for the medicine cat's den. His legs pumping as fast as he could. He burst though the entrance. "Shadeheart! Ravenpaw! Patcheye needs help!"

Shadeheart looked up from her herb sorting as she heard Bristlepaw. "P...P...Patcheye?!" she stuttered before racing outside her den to see her dying friend, shoving Bristlepaw out of the way in her mad panic. "Patcheye! Oh StarClan... Umm... Ravenpaw! G-Get me some... some yarrow quick!" she shouted.

"S-Shadeheart, my warrior, my friend... ...my medicine cat" she purred weakly, the pain being slightly subsiding as she purred. "I am an.. old cat now.. I still have many apprentices to finish training.." she wheezed, her eyes nearly closing as she slowly started feeling peace. "I hope you can remember what I said...all those moons ago? I will not go peacefully, if you have.. forgotten" she joked, starting to wheeze and once again vomited. "That I will always be around if you want me, even in death, I promise." She smirked slightly, as if these were her dying words.

"No! Don't die Patcheye. You are my only friend. I can... I can..." Shadeheart said before she realised that it was hopeless, Patcheye was going to die. A tear ran down from Shadeheart's good eye.

"Shadeheart... I am not your only friend, you have many.. many cats to lead you through thick and thin... and, tell my mother... I'll meet her in Starclan..." She purred before letting herself fall limp, her eyes soon becoming lifeless as they closed, and her scrabbling and vomiting ceased.

Bristlepaw didn't respond with anger to being shoved aside, instead, he took it as a good thing. Someone was watching over his mentor. Skidding over so he stood next to Shadeheart, his eyes trying to stay calm and collected. "Is there anything I can do?" He mewed somewhat calmly. His panic had slowly died down since the medicine cat had arrived. Although, there was a fear, would they be able to save Patcheye? 'Of course! medicine cats always save their sick. Right?' He mentally scolded himself.

Hearing Patheye's words, Bristlepaw froze. 'No. This isn't happening. Not MY mentor!' His ears folded back in fear and sadness. "No, Patcheye! Why?"

Twistedfoot came padding into the camp, a rabbit held firmly in his grasp. He blinked when he saw Shadeheart and Bristlepaw standing over...something. He frowned, shaking his head. It was impossible to get a good look at what it was from the entrance of the camp. He started to pad toward them, before he quickly froze at the sight of the calico fur that laid limply at their paws. The rabbit dropped from his mouth as he realize who it was. "P-Patcheye?" he muttered weakly, before finally pelting forward toward the group. "Patcheye!" He slid to a stop near the two, his eyes wide as he looked at the limp, lifeless form of his sister. How...How could this have happened? Not even paying attention to Shadeheart or Bristlepaw, he leaned down and nuzzled his sister's form, letting out a pitful moan. Oh, Patcheye...

OOC: I totally should've posted before... Sorry, been a bit busy.

IC: Ravenpaw, who was sorting herbs in the den, twitched her whiskers a bit before making out the scream of Patcheye, an agonizing sound. Noticing that Shadeheart was already with her, she thought that she wouldn't be needed for awhile, so she just continued with the herbs. Narrowing her eyes as she made out the faint voice of Shadeheart calling for yarrow, the black she-cat looked around before noticing one thing - they didn't have any yarrow. Shaking her head, the medicine cat apprentice looked around for a substitute of yarrow. Looking around for stinging nettle, she grabbed a pawful of the seeds before heading over to Shadeheart and Patcheye to notice her father was there. Was she too late? Placing the nettle seeds on the ground, Ravenpaw turned away, eyes shadowed, before she headed back to the medicine cat den.

Lavenderheart hearing Patcheye's scream caused her to head out of the nursery, where she was staying after feeling that she was having kits once again, and sprinted as fast as she could to Shadeheart and Twistedfoot, who were with Patcheye. Seeing the grief in Twistedfoot and Shadeheart, the blue she-cat couldn't help, but feel the same way. Patcheye was a great friend and she enjoyed the older she-cat's company. Sighing, she muttered softly, "May StarClan light your path, Patcheye... WindClan will never forget you."

Raccoonstar watched from the back knowing well enough what had happened. First Stormeye, and Icepaw now Patcheye? Patcheye wasn't supposed die before her! She still had some time left... the leader lowered her head. She was getting old but she still had a bit left seeing how she still had six lives. The leader ignored the group of cats in front of Patcheye's body, their words muffled in the grey she-cat's ears. She glanced over at her son, Twistedfoot, before moving to her den her tail tip dragging the dirt.

"P...P...Patcheye..." Shadeheart stuttered as she started crying harder. She hadn't felt this bad since the fire when she was left behind in camp...

The bad thoughts started flooding back into Shadeheart's head. They abandoned you! They don't love you! "I... I need to lie down for a bit..." Shadeheart said, her voice slightly croaky, which other cats probably assumed was from crying.
