| Subject: Two Birds Plus a Patcheye - Plot Fri 16 Aug 2013 - 20:18 | |
| Grey, Mink, and I have thought up a whole plot for Patcheye, Crowclaw, and Ravenpaw. Originally, I was thinking up some ideas to further Crow's own personal character-plot, then realized that adding more characters into it would add onto the fun and allow others to join in on the action. In other words, Crow & Raven being the main-characters in the plot, while Patcheye is a very important character but not exactly a 'main-character'. Remember that Mink could also have more plans for Raven, and this is just my view on what we have planned so far in Crow's plot's perspective. Keep in mind that this is all what we are planning. We aren't going to put the really important stuff(such as Raven being Crow's half-sister; spoiler there) into play yet without permission first. In fact, this plot isn't even finished yet. It's rather big, so we haven't finished it. We would appreciate some other members' honest and mature opinions on this. - A slightly long, rough description of Crow's 'past' and how he started becoming 'evil', in case you admins are wondering:
After the fire, Windclan finally returned home, patching up camp the best they could. During the trip, there had been many casualties, such as Shadeheart getting blinded in one eye, the death of multiple cats...One queen in particular had been expecting a litter of kits. Her mate, however, was one of the warriors who supposedly died in the fire. When she finally gave birth, she died from blood-loss, and only one kit survived: Crowkit. As Crowkit grew older, the aggressive tom began to lean farther and farther into the dark side of life, finally into the cat he is now. But he's still getting worse, no one can deny that.
That's a small explanation of Crow's beginning. All of Windclan knows he's had trouble ever since he was a kit, and being as stubborn and self-centered as he is, these things just keep building up. Eventually his heart and mind are seemingly weak, meaning he's on the verge of losing loyalty to his clan or anyone. He already abandon Starclan, so he believed there was no other way to go. While thinking about that one night, slowly drifting into sleep, his dreams are interrupted by a cat who seemingly only wanted an friend or ally who thought like him, and who he could trust. Crowpaw seemed to be that kind of cat, for he was lured into the Place of No Stars by a voice in the back of his head, like an alternate-conscience in a way. Basically, all his bad thoughts have led him to have a sort of 'second way of thinking' in the back of his mind. This happens in real life to people, often leading to insanity. Crow is just mad though, so he should be decently stable for the time being. As Icestream begins to open up to him, Crowclaw finds that his only friend is one who is dead and part of another 'ancestor-group'. He figured this is where he belongs, since no one else understands him or thinks the way he does. Crowclaw has chosen a dark path.
His goal: "Crowclaw wants to go down in clan-history as the 'strongest, most dangerous warrior ever lived'. He thinks it'll finally prove something to everyone, including himself. He thinks this will earn him respect, and after many moons of unstable loyalty with his clan, he'll do anything to get it. This is why he's working with Icestream. He thinks he can get stronger with him, and having allies is always a good idea when you have a goal you want to get to."
- A rough description on Raven's past and how it goes with the present plot:
When the clan had escaped the burning land that was their home, Crowkit's father had managed to drag himself out of the fire before he could be burnt to a crisp. With the clan nowhere in site, he attempted to find them, assuming they went out of the territory or at least to refuge somewhere safe in the territory, he made his way towards the border with the unclaimed land beyond clan territories. It was just a guess at which way they had headed, since his vision had blurred and it was hard to breath, let alone taste the air for scents. He had collapsed after a rather long walk, getting a good distance between him and Windclan without even noticing it. He had gone the opposite direction as his clanmates. When he awakened, a friendly she-cat was standing over him, tending to his wounds from the fire along with another, old elderly cat. They explained that the she-cat had brought him here to help him after pitying his condition. Eventually he was restored to full health and decided to stay with them, growing a liking for the she-cat who had rescued him. She herself had become rather attached to him as well, and they eventually had a litter of kits. One looked stronger than the others, sleeker and more of a fighter. It reminded the father of his old days in the clan. He decided that in case something happened to his previous mate, which he assumed her birth would fail and result in the death of his old mate's litter due to the fire, that he would allow this little she-kit to live the life he once had, the wonderful life of a Warrior. It was too late for him to go back, so he decided to let her live her life to the fullest. This kit had the dark, shadowy fur of a raven, jet-black with a nice shine to it.
The next day, after talking it over with his current mate(who definitely didn't agree with it at first), he brought the little she-kit out towards Windclan's territory, wondering if they had even returned yet. As he arrived at the border, he was relieved to be able to smell fresh scent-markers on the border. He placed the kit gently down in the grass, and hid a little farther back to watch and make sure she was picked up safely. Around now, the Moonhigh patrol should be coming out. As expected, they came around and took the kitten back to their camp, where she received the name "Ravenkit".
So if you want a simpler explanation, Ravenpaw is actually Crowclaw's half-sister, though no one knows it yet. They don't know it themselves. It would make sense since they have such similar appearances and personalities, however, as if that was given to them from their father's side of the family.
Now for a much simpler explanation on training between Ravenpaw and Crowclaw. This is where Patcheye really starts to come into play.
- As soon as training begins between Ravenpaw and Crowclaw, they already begin to hate each other. They get into many arguments and come back to camp a little grumpy. Patcheye is the first to notice this, since she distrusts him the most and had decided to keep a close eye on him.
- Hunting Training is next. Ravenpaw eventually misses a piece of prey(everyone does eventually during their hunting patrols), which gives Crow a 'reason' to snap at her. Though of course he over-does it and they hate each other even more. Obviously they're on the verge of snapping. They even snap at each other coming back into camp, looking like they just had a fight. Patcheye is of course, the one to try and calm them down...And by them I mean Ravenpaw. She mostly just lectures Crowclaw since Ravenpaw is a new apprentice who 'doesn't know better' and Crowclaw is a young Warrior who should 'learn to control is anger'. This event makes Patcheye even more suspicious of him becoming a dangerous cat.
- Up comes Battle Training. Patcheye had decided to follow them in secret since training seems to have gotten so bad between the two, that she was worried they'd break the Warrior Code and start fighting each other, claws out. As expected, Crowclaw snaps and slides out his claws, threatening to 'teach her a lesson' and attacking her. Ravenpaw of course fights back, claws also unsheathed. However, before any real damage is done, Patcheye leaps in and stops them. Crowclaw is given a rather large punishment, while Ravenpaw is given a smaller one, since she was simply 'defending herself' considering Crowclaw attacked first. Obviously, Crowclaw is getting progressively more angry and willing to do more damage now that his apprentice doesn't seem to be getting in any real trouble.
- For Ravenpaw's assessment, Patcheye is actually told to follow Crowclaw this time(not in secret) and keep watch with him so he doesn't 'try anything funny out of anger' again. Crowclaw reluctantly puts up with Patcheye and gives her the occasional, scornful glare every now and then when he sees her. He knows she's onto him. This makes him get a little nervous. He declares that Ravenpaw passed her assessment, considering the Senior Warrior is right there to watch him.
When Ravenpaw becomes a Warrior, that's when things really start to come into play. - Patcheye V.S. Crowclaw - The Plan:
With the knowledge that Patcheye is now basically breathing down his neck, Crowclaw decides to talk to Icestream again in his dreams one night. He confesses how things may become more risky when it comes to him and his plans, hoping his one and only 'friend' could give him some advice. Being the already unstable tom he is, killed by his adopted-father and suffering insanity while he was alive, Icestream panics a little as well for Crowclaw and urges him to take action. Something must be done to keep Patcheye quiet, and Crowclaw was much too smart to think a loyal, senior Warrior like her would fall for bribery or some stupid little joke like that. So they begin plotting. Of course Crowclaw would have probably thought up something like this eventually himself if he wasn't so nervous, but it'd probably be too late by then and he'd want another cat's opinion in case he was missing anything. Basically, Icestream is the one to give him the little push to get his sled going down the mountain, if put theoretically.
Crowclaw decides to try and get Patcheye 'accidentally' lost in the Tunnels, in which no Windclan cat seems to have explored, let alone memorized and adjusted to yet. His explanation would be that he and Patcheye had decided to go for a walk and discuss things, admitting that he's been noticing that she's been doubting his loyalty a little. When things were 'cleared up', they found themselves by the tunnels and decided to see what was down there, perhaps a burrow that could be of some use to Windclan. However, Patcheye got lost quickly down there, while Crowclaw managed to get out, unable to locate his clanmate anywhere. He 'sincerely apologizes' for the incident and pretends to mourn her loss for the next few days. He doesn't like the idea of humiliating himself in such way, but realizes this is the only way without him getting caught and being the first cat his clanmates look to as some sort of vicious murderer, for in reality he brings Patcheye into the tunnels and kills her there by surprising the she-cat with his secretly-learned move, the Killing Bite. He then burries the body just in case, pushing some rocks over the burial so it looked like a cave-in as a back-up plan if some one were to go down looking for her. This is unlikely, however, since his story about how easily it seems to be able to get lost in there can cause his clanmates to stay away from the tunnels, fearing they would only lose more Warriors by going down there.
Patcheye is killed, and Crowclaw's craftiness allows him to get away with it. But don't worry, he'll get caught...Eventually. Moving on to things regarding Crowclaw and Ravenflight's(her current future-warrior-name) part in this huge plot. Note: We will need permission to temporarily have access to a NPC for the part involving Raven and Crow finding out they are half-siblings. This NPC's entrance into a topic will be mentioned/explained roughly in the spoiler below. The NPC will be played by Mink. - Forgotten Father:
A regular border patrol. Ravenflight, Crowclaw, and two other warriors are assigned to the patrol to check the borders. They check the Thunderpath, the Gorge...Next they must check the border separating Windclan from the unclaimed land that no Clan territory was a part of: The Abandon Barn and Twolegplace beyond. As they check that particular border, however, a mysterious tom appears, confronting the patrol but not passing over onto clan-land. He says he spotted the patrol a ways away and decided to say hello. Of course the patrol warns him not to trespass and stay away from the border, as usual. However, he's staring fondly at Ravenflight and Crowclaw for some reason. Crowclaw suddenly flinches, realizing how much this tom looked like him and his former apprentice. But he seemed much older. The mysterious tom politely asks if he can speak with the two Windclan Warriors privately. It's been so long, the other patrol members do not recognize the cat, so they are of course hesitant to agree. However, Crowclaw insists they will be fine and that he can deal with this outsider. He asks the other patrol members to go on and that they'll catch up. Skipping the details, Ravenflight and Crowclaw figure out that this is their long-lost father...And that Crowclaw and Ravenflight are half-siblings. Of course this is shocking news to them, though they decided it's better not to let the clan know just yet. They ask the old tom if they could come by his home and ask some questions later on when possible, and he accepts. The two then rejoin their patrol and continue as if nothing happened, though they have much to talk to each other about at camp when no one will hear them.
We haven't gotten any farther than that, actually. I have a few ideas myself, and I will list them below for everyone including Mink and Grey to take a look at...
- They will later attempt to secretly visit their father near the Abandon Barn, but can't find him at first. They follow his scent trail and find him dead on the side of a Thunderpath. This is because he serves no purpose in the plot besides telling them that they are related in a way, therefor there is no need to overuse him as an NPC, unless any of you have some ideas on what he could do in addition.
- Crowclaw decides that since they share their father's blood, perhaps he'd try to get his half-sister involved in the Dark Forest with him and Icestream as well. He thinks that she could possibly help out with his plans for she may think similarly to him. Of course the outcome of this attempt(whether or not Ravenflight obliges to joining) is up to Mink, Ravenflight's role-player. [EDIT: Mink is fine with this, as said through pm'ing]
More ideas coming soon. ______________________________________
