FIRE!!!!!!! [prt. 1]

Raccoonstar sat in the night time, the stars were blocked by clouds. What kind of clouds on may ask, well she couldn't know the answer because she couldn't see all to well. While the rest of the clan slept the leader sat up in the night pondering about things, and an uneasy feeling she had about the night. Starclan was quiet, and hadn't told her anything since her first death so she knew something bad was bound to happen. She stood from her he area she used when she slept out in the open, and headed out into the territory. The night was dark, and cold. A cold breeze came across the territory, shaking the dry grass, and making the night as eerie as possible. The leader walked along the territory suddenly startled by a clash of thunder. The she-cat stepped back in fear from the sudden storm. The sky lit up with light as lightning crossed the clouds. The leader turned, and and started sprinting for the camp. They needed to get to the rabbit holes quickly before the rain started. The lightning came across again this time striking the ground in front of the leader. The heat causing the dry grass to catch fire. Raccoonstar scrambled back in fear as the fire quickly grew consuming the dry grass in it's wake. The leader scrambled around the fire trying to avoid it as best she could as it spread across the dry territory.

The grey leader burst into the camp area, taking a moment to catch her breath. Her eyes were wide with fear. She looked at her camp, and then looked back the at the fire which was coming closer with every second. She let a yowl to alert the camp trying to wake them up. "Wake up!! There is a fire in the territory! We need to get to the barn!" She yowled, before turning to the look at the ever bigger glow, that was coming closer. The leader watched as the other animals in the area fled to the area away from the territory. Some even cutting across the camp to escape. The she-cat turned back to the camp, and yowled out again. "Hurry up! She then went to the elders' den to help/awake Stormeye, and to make sure he escaped.

Lavenderkit, who was fast asleep, woke up with a jumpy start. She could've sworn she heard a crackle of some sort, like thunder/lightning. Then, the kit smelled something... Burning. Wait, what? Was there Twolegs out in the forest burning something? Looking up to the sky, she thought she couldn't see the stars. It was all a black hazy mist. Scrambling around, Lavenderkit ran into Raccoonstar by accident, hearing her say something about a fire, and getting to a barn. Not knowing the territory very well, she thought about where this barn was. Maybe Twistedpaw or Ivypaw could tell her later, but really... Lavenderkit didn't like this. Was weather like this common in WindClan?

Hearing another clash of thunder, the kit covered her ears with her paws and covered her eyes with her tail. The kit's eyes were unable to be seen, but they were wide with fear. Lavenderkit's fur fluffed up with fear while she trembled infinitely. Lifting up her nose, she smelled the ashes coming closer and closer. Feeling the heat coming closer, Lavenderkit wondered which way was the apprentices' den. Scenting Twistedpaw and Ivypaw, she wondered if Raccoonstar wouldn't mind if she helped. Giving out a small cry of "Fire! Head to the barn quickly!", it echoed throughout the den.

Patcheye pelted out, Longkit and Lionkit in her maw along with Lavenderkit held where she could be, immediately rushing out of camp screaming and hollering 'Fire fire' she kept coughing, the pain of smoke entering her lungs, she had to keep her kits safe her fur bristled as she swiftly evaded the fire, though it scorched the tip of her calico fur black.

Twistedpaw awoken with a shock, the sound of thunder ringing in his ears. Suddenly his mother's cry echoed into the camp. A fire? With a gasp; he forced himself onto his paws, already starting to chock on the smoke. "Everybody out!" he gasped toward the other apprentices before quickly limping toward the entrance and forcing himself into the dim moonlight. His eyes grew wide at the sight of the burning flames that grew closer to the camp, freezing in fear however hearing the soft meows of Lavanderkit echoing his mother's words, he quickly looked around in panic. He saw his sister and started to follow her out of the camp until he froze. Where was Raccoonstar and Stormeye? He glanced around for his parents and when he saw his mother's pelt next to the Elder's den he let out a soft sigh; they were safe for now. He spun and raced after Patcheye once again, coughing as the black air entered his lungs as he attempted to dodge his way past the fire.

Stormeye's eyes shot open the moment Raccoonstar's cry rung into the usually clam air. He forced himself onto his paws and quickly pelted from the den, calling out of the other's elders to follow. His good eye shined when he saw his mate, and flickered his tail toward her as he pulled himself from the den. "I'm fine, Raccoonstar! Make sure the kits and the apprentices get out; I may be an elder but I'm not helpless!" He paused to quickly nuzzle Raccoonstar before pelting toward the exit of the camp, his legs going as fast as they would let the elder. He skirted around the fire with wide eyes, coughing but followed his son and daughter, only to pause and look back at the camp. Hopefully everybody would get out safely...

Ivypaw was fast asleep, but awoke at Twistedpaw's voice. It was at the last minute before the flames were really close to hitting the camp. Coughing horridly, she tried to catch up to Twistedpaw. Her eyes watered from the smoke, and it didn't help with her running. Ivypaw just about tripped over her own paws, but made a lucky save. Coughing even more, she finally got out of camp. But then her mind shot to something. We are surrounded by moor...What about the other clans? Will the fire reach them?

Lionkit awoke to screaming and yelling. He opened his eyes and almost immediately coughed. What's going on? he thought. Next to him was Longkit and Lavenderkit. He coughed some more and looked around. What is making me cough so much? He asked himself.

Raccoonstar watched as Stormeye left the camp after Twistedpaw, and Patcheye. She didn't know where Falconfang was at the moment, but hopefully he was helping the others. She pushed herself from the elders' den over to the nursery to see Lionkit, Longkit, and Lavenderkit. Lavenderkit seemed to be help awake the other kits. The leader picked up Lionkit, by his scruff and looked at Lavenderkit. "Lavenderkit, I need you to be an apprentice right now, and help me with Longkit. Raccoonstar mewed through Lionkit's scruff. She raced out of camp, going as fast as she could until she got to a safe area. She set Lionkit down, and gave him a look as to stay there. She quickly turned again and head back for the camp. The leader dodged the blazing fire as it slowly consumed the grass. The leader pushed herself back into the nursery, and grabbed Rainkit. The leader pushed herself back out of the nursery, and over to the warriors' den to make sure it was clear. Minteyes had already seemed to be out of the camp or helping, and hopefully Duststorm had followed Stormeye out. She went back over to the nursery, and waited for the other to kits to come out of the nursery, and out of harms way of the fire. She would make sure that everyone was out of camp before she left.

Looking to Raccoonstar, the kit's eyes held disbelief. The leader of WindClan was trusting her to be like an apprentice and help with Longkit? She's not that much taller than Longkit - just a little. But, the leader's word is law. Grabbing Longkit by the scruff, Lavenderkit nodded to Raccoonstar, who had already raced out. Following her, it was strange that she was able to match the WindClan leader's speed. Setting Longkit down next to Lionkit, Lavenderkit decided to stay with the other kits - to make sure they wouldn't get into any trouble before Patcheye got here. Then, she would go help Raccoonstar - if Patcheye let her. If not, she'll just stay here and keep the other kits entertained somehow, or maybe scout the area for any prey left. And, etc. Seeing the leader head back to the camp, Lavenderkit cried out, "Good luck Raccoonstar! May StarClan light your path!"

Was he dreaming? Maybe... the once-clear moors were awash in darkness, clouding Falconfang's vision. Screams of terror danced around his ears, but he couldn't see who was screaming. He tried to call out to them, but all that came out was a heavy cough. What in Starclan was going on? His body was wracked by them until he was doubled over in agony. This wasn't right at all. I have to be dreaming, I have to be dreaming...

Falconfang woke up with a start. It was a dream, but something seemed odd... the camp was buzzing with activity, yet it was pitch black. What was going o- was that smoke? Quickly, he stood up and started padding towards the entrance. The den was strangely empty. Where was everyone? Where was Minteyes? Flashes of harried cats crossed the entrance, heading somewhere in quite a rush. It was only then that he heard the cries; the cries of "Fire!" His eyes went wide as he grew more alert, finally bursting out of the den to see cats fleeing every which way, fire engulfing the very flammable grass quickly. Turning around, he saw Raccoonstar checking around the camp for stragglers and ran towards her. "Raccoonstar!" he gasped out. "What in the name of Starclan is going on? Where's Minteyes?" He hadn't seen her in the throng of cats, and he couldn't leave without her.

"The moor has been set a blaze! I just checking the camp for anyone who has gotten caught up in the chaos.." Raccoonstar wheezed through the smoke, and Rainkit's scruff. "Minteyes escaped the camp a while ago.. The leader wheezed again. "We need to go, everyone is out besides us." The leader then turned towards the exit, and dashed out of the camp.

"What's going on Lavenderkit? where's Lionkit? where's Patcheye?" he asked frantically as we was practically dragged out of camp, seeing his mother racing back towards them but running past, he screamed her name but his voice was swallowed by the sound of crackling.


Patcheye had scanned the area once more running into camp she yelled "Raccoonstar, we should head to Riverclan, we should be safe from the fire, the river seperates our territory!" she yowled hoping her voice could be heard.

Falconfang nodded, casting one last glance among the camp just in case anyone was left behind. Making to follow behind Raccoonstar, he mewed urgently to her, "Where are we going to go? Do you have some place in mind to stay?" He hadn't heard their urgent cries of heading for the barn, so the deputy was currently clueless as to their temporary living space. They just needed to leave, now.

Lavenderkit tried to hush Longkit, covering the kit's mouth with her tail. "Don't worry, Lionkit's right next to you. Patcheye went back to camp to help the others. She'll be back, don't worry..." The blue she-cat mewed, hoping the kit would believe her words. Honestly, Lavenderkit couldn't believe it that much either. A fire... She's never seen one before, but she's heard they're terrible. Trying her best to stay calm, she quietly pleaded, "StarClan... Please help us!" Wondering if they could hear her, Lavenderkit's eyes watered, a tear falling down. She then wrapped her tail around the two kits to keep them warm, waiting for the others to come and guide them to the barn - or RiverClan territory.

Shadepaw looked around in the smoke, her black and grey pelt made her almost invisible in the smoke. "Hello?" Shadepaw called, before getting a mouthful of smoke and breaking into a coughing fit. She couldn't hear anyone around her, she couldn't see or smell at all because of the smoke. "Is anyone still here?" she hoarsely said, before breaking into another coughing fit.

Twistedpaw was silent as he glanced from the cats, trying to find his den mate. He froze when he relized that they were missing a cat. "W-Where is Shadepaw?" He spun to face the camp; his eyes wide. They must have missed her in the darkness and the chaos, her pelt would of helped her blend in after all.
