April Gathering 2013

OOC: I know we never actually finished the March Gathering, but the time for the April Gathering has already passed and some people have told me to just go ahead and make it. For continuity purposes, this takes place before the ThunderClan-RiverClan battle, and nothing notable happened at the last Gathering. So here we go.

IC: Falling back into routine was a welcome change to the Clan cats. It was the second Gathering after hectic wartime, and the scars the Deomilites left seemed to have begun to fade with the Newleaf rain and sun. New life bloomed, kits were born, prey was abundant. Life was good, and life was peaceful. While the alliance that had lasted among the Clans during that fateful battle had ended, perhaps it would keep the warriors of the forest placated.

The full moon hung in the clear dark sky, basking the clearing in a pale light. The Great Rock looked almost mystical, encompassed in a silver ray that made it glitter. Insects buzzed through the warm night air, making a quiet hum fall over the otherwise silent setting.

Thunderclan was the first to arrive. The leader of the clan made his way calmly down the slope into the clearing, glancing back to make sure the others followed. Lionstar looked up at the Great Rock, glimmering with the moon's light. He paused by the base of the sloping end of the rock, waiting for the rest of his clan to file in before leaping easily up the slope onto the structure and sitting in his usual spot. The shine of the moon created an outline over him in the night, so the shadows couldn't hide him.

Possumtail followed Lionstar into the clearing. My first Gathering as a warrior! She thought. Her bright yellow eyes shown with excitement as if this was her first time seeing Fourtrees. Everyone will think I am still an apprentice since my small size. She looked around. This clearing will be filled with cats from all Clans soon! She found a spot and sat down.

Good, we're the first here. The gray she-cat slipped into the clearing with her Clan, finding an excellent spot close to the Great Rock. Dewclaw had not come last time, so she didn't see the clearing directly after the battle with the Deomilites, but it showed signs of war still. The reason she hadn't come last time, much to her disdain, was the long gash she had received from her adversary which by now had formed into a long ugly scar on her right shoulder that almost reached to her elbow. A good spot, right in front of the rock to hear the leaders' quietest of whispers and the discussions of the deputies even closer still. Perfect.


She stole a quick glance at Lionstar and then looked away. How remarkably strong he was- with his figure outlined by the moonlight, his muscles showed from his pelt. She was a gifted fighter, but she would never forget who taught her to use that gift.

Mosspelt pranced into the clearing, his black coat glossy and shining. The moon made a glint in his eyes. He looked to only see ThunderClan here. He laughed knowing he would get the best deputy spot. He sat under the rock and sat down, his head raised in pride.

Following soon after ThunderClan, Froststar made her way into the clearing, leading her small clan. She kept her head high, and though she appeared completely healthy on the outside, her eyes showed how tired and worn out she was, followed by grief and worry. She leaped up onto the Greatrock and casually dipped her head at Lionstar, though showing no signs of wishing to strike up a conversation at that time.

After Dewclaw, in came Embershade, silent, unlike she usually was. Something didn't feel right, although, nothing seemed wrong. Still, she continued with the group, her pawsteps slower than usual. She didnt have the energy she used to, as the she-cat had barely gotten over the fact that her second apprentice had disappeared. How unlucky.

Even so, the she-cat was nearing the senior warrior age, and Embershade did in fact age, but only after time itself aged. As the cat entered the clearing, she glanced around to see who had already arrived, but before even noting who had, dropped her head and headed for the usual spot she sat in. Taking a deep breath, she sat, lifting her head towards the Great Rock. She stared blankly at the leaders already up there: Lionstar and Froststar. Shaking her head, she blinked and waited for the rest to arrive and the news to be announced.

Reedheart followed closely after his leader, taking a seat as far from the other cats as he could. Soon the clearing would be packed, but he just wanted to enjoy a couple of moments by himself. Maybe he could discreetly nod off while they were chatting, Gatherings hadn't been as exciting as he had built them up to be while he was gravely injured and unable to go, but... Reedheart shook his head clear. He had to stay alert and mindful around these other Clan cats. He didn't want to give off a bad impression.

Whitefoot walked into the clearing exited about his first gathering as a warrior. Only Riverclan and Thunderclan here.

Nightpaw warily looked around the the sheltered clearing, her first peaceful step into the sacred place. The black she-cat's actual first step had been to fight off the Deomolities, and it still lay fresh in her mind. Sitting halfway between the Great Rock and the edge of Fourtrees, she flicked her gaze from one cat to the next. "Thunderclan grew fast..", she murmered.

The windfall leader watched as the other two clans entered the gathering area,before flicking her tail and leader her clan down to the familiar area. Tonight she had a bone to pick with another clan, and hopefully they would take the warning.

And last, but not least, Sagestar watched as the other three clans filed in. He glanced back at his own cats before signalling with his tail and walking out. ShadowClan poured into the clearing. He leaped up onto the Great Rock, not bothering to say anything to the others, as they didn't particularly say anything to him either.

Twistedpaw limped after his Clan, his gaze flickering back and forth as he swallowed. This would be his first time at a gathering, and his first time out of his territory! He stuck close to the large grey tom next to him; none other then Stormeye. The elder glanced at his young son with a small grin. "Aw, come on, Twistedpaw. Don't look so scared. This is a peaceful night. Go and met some new cats."

The white and grey apprentice glanced at his father with worried-filled eyes but stumbled away as Stormeye playfully rammed his shoulder into the twisted-pawed cat. Getting the message, Twistedpaw sighed as he watched his father disappear into the crowd of cats and glanced around for somebody to talk to. He shifted from paw to paw, glancing at his twisted paw every once in a while; wondering if somebody would ask him about it tonight.

Falconfang followed behind Raccoonstar, looking around at all the clan cats gathered around. It seemed like time flew by so quickly, as if there hadn't even been a gathering last moon. Regardless, the deputy sidled up the where the deputies sat and gave a greeting to Mosspelt. "Hey Mosspelt," he purred softly, sitting down and casting his gaze around the clearing.

Minteyes filed in behind the others of her clan. With a grin on face face she trotted over to her apprentice. "Doing alright, Twistedpaw?" She knew that the young tom was nervous, so she sat down beside him.
