Mintpaw's Hunting and Border patrols.

Stormstar let out a small sniff, rubbing his nose with his paws. The gathering being a few days ago, he still had a small trace of his sickness left. Only a handful of WindClan cats knew that he had lost his first life... His ears flickered as he gazed around with his warm yellow eyes, waiting for his apprentice to come. Mintpaw was lagging behide in training because of the sickness Stormstar had gotten...greencough to be exact, and now that he was feeling much better he wished to get ahead on Mintpaw's training, today, he was going to put two in one.

Quickly Mintpaw shot out the apprentice den when she remembered that she was going to go out on a patrol with Stormstar. Seeing him at the edge of camp she quickly moved towards him, skidding to a stop in front of him. "Hello."

Stormstar glanced at Mintpaw, a smile appearing on his lips. "Ah, there you are. I'm feeling much better, so I figured that we should work on your training. Today I am going to show you how to hunt, and the borders. Sounds good?"

"Yay! Sounds great" The young apprentice was full of joy. She couldn't wait to become a protector of this clan just like Stormstar.

Nodding, Stormstar got to his paws and hurried off toward the RiverClan border, only glancing back every few minutes to see if Mintpaw hadn't lagged behide. He stopped near the gorge, so far that they had no threat of falling in, but close enough so that they could see the raging waters below.

With her legs being much shorter than the adult cat's, she couldn't match him step for step, but she tried. Mintpaw settled for head to tail. Catching her mentor looking back a few times she continued to follow.

Stopping at the gorge, the tom flickered his tail toward it. "This is the gorge, one of the borders between RiverClan and WindClan. Falling in means death, no warriors that fallen in and surived to tell the tale if any. There is a slope to get down to the river, but that is unsafe. If you ever want to get to RiverClan's terriory, you always want to go father downstream to where it is much calmer and the slope isn't so big." The leader froze, sighing sadly. "I know the danger of the gorge first-pawed. When I was an young apprentice my best friend was taken by the gorge when he was hunting. Being so focused on the hunting, he hadn't seen the gouge coming up until he and the rabbit he was chasing fell in. We found his body the next day during a patrol to find him, the dead rabbit in his jaws..." Raising a paw to wipe away a tear, he sat there quietly to let his apprentice see the deadly gorge.

Mintpaw looked at the deep hole that ended with a wild river. She thought about what falling in there would be like, Must feel like forever falling. Every now and then she would nod to let her mentor know she was listening. Listening to Stormstar's story she softly mewed, "That's sad."

Stormstar nodded sightly, before padding away. He continued walking until he suddenly stopped about half way to Fourtrees, his eyes focused on a rabbit. "Come here, Mintpaw," he whispered, flicking his tail.

Following intently after her mentor, she felt tension in the air. Prey instantly came to mind. Her mentor's words comfirmed it. She made her way beside him and waited for directions.

Doing as he said, she let a small nod be her only movement. Her tail hovered above the ground and her body pressed low. Blood rushed to her ears, everything else blackened. it was only her and the rabbit. 'Loading' herself, she put all her weight on her haunches and sprung herself at the rabbit. Mintpaw didn't land square on it, she landed more on its head and shoulders area. It wriggled away, but the young apprentice gathered herself quickly and took off after it. In a full stride and was fairly long and so she covered a lot of ground with each step. It only took a few to catch the rabbit. Digging her unsheathed claws into the rabbit's sides she stopped it. Bitting it she ended life for the animal. Looking at Stormstar, she hoped it would be good enough for her second time out hunting.

Smiling, Stormstar padded over. "Very nice, Mintpaw. I'll carry it. Let's head over to the ShadowClan border."

Occ: Err...remember that you have to use the dice to hunt.

Nodding happily she followed in suit behind her mentor.

OOC: Isn't an admin suppose to do that?

Soon, the two had reached the edge of the moor, where a large Thunderpath stood. On the other side the grass gave way to a large dark forest. "This is the border with ShadowClan and WindClan. The Thunderpath is very deadly, as large monsters race across it." At that moment, the ground started to shake, the air was filled with a deadly hum. In moments, a large silver beast raced across it, barely missing the WindClan leader by a fox-length or so, but the tom didn't even blink as his fur was ruffled. "I'm sure that you have been here before, thought."

Occ: No, you got to do it. Do you remember how to roll the dice? If not, you want to click on preview. Right below where you can make changes to your post it says "Dices roll #1" There you want to make it Effect Dice, and then you want to make the dice rolls one most of the time, but more if you are trying to catch more then one piece of prey.
