Gracepaw's Ceremony

"Everyone gather around" Stonestar ordered and jumped on the sky-rock

Gracepaw bounded up to Skyrock, giving herself a quick grooming.

Sootshadow padded out of the Elders' den. She had gotten used to being blind and knew where stuff was. She padded over to Sky-rock and sat down.

Am I becoming a warrior? Gracepaw thought happily.

"Gracepaw step forward" Stonestar said "I, Stonestar, leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn.
"Gracepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do." she said truthfully.

"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name. Gracepaw from this moment on you will be known as Gracestep. StarClar praises your dignity and loyalty and we welcome you as full member of SkyClan."

Sootshadow chanted her former apprentices name, "Gracestep! Gracestep!"
