Sparkkit's MCA ceremony

OOC: I'm so sorry it took so long!!!!

IC: Dreamleaf made her way over to nursery at sun-high and poked her head in. She glanced around and spotted Sparkkit.
"Sparkkit, please come with me for a moment," Dreamleaf called out quietly, as to not wake any of the sleeping kits. Dreamleaf withdrew her head and waited for the kit to come out.

"Huh, Dreamleaf?" Sparkkit sleepily blinked her eyes open, slightly confused as to why the medicine cat wanted her. She'd always been one of the kit's idols - but why was Dreamleaf here? She scrambled to her feet and padded outside the nursery, glancing nervously to the side. "What is it?"

Dreamleaf smiled as the kit came out.
"I've decided to make you my new Medicine Cat Apprentice. I'm getting old and need a smart cat to take my place if something happens, and that cat will be you," Dreamleaf stated, standing up. She already knew that Sparkkit would agree. She'd always see the young kit sneaking around the Medicine Cat Den or peaking in whenever she could. Dreamleaf brought over the kit's bundle of herbs for the journey.

It took all of Sparkkit's self control not to squeal with happiness. Dreamleaf wants me to become her apprentice? Me? The next medicine cat? The kit's eyes shone as bright as the sparks she'd been named after. "Really? Thank you - I'd love to!" The gray she-cat gave the medicine cat a little excited - and thankful - nod. She'd spent much of her kithood sneaking around the medicine cat den, watching Dreamleaf with a special admiration. This momement felt like a dream come true.
"Where will we be going?" Sparkkit asked with interest, as she noticed Dreamleaf bring over some herbs.

"The Moonstone. There, you will receive your Medicine Cat Apprentice name. We will leave as soon as you eat those herbs," Dreamleaf announced.

Sparkkit nodded, and took the herbs. They weren't bad-tasting. When she was done, she looked back up of Dreamleaf with wide eyes. "Will we go now?"

Dreamleaf nodded and lead her out of the camp.

TIMESKIP

The two cats reached Highstone at sun-down. They had a bit of time to spare. Dreamleaf turned to Sparkkit and before turning her attention to the sky briefly.

"Now what?" Sparkkit questioned, laying down. Though she was a little over six moons old, her paws still ached from the journey. She didn't let that hinder her enthusiasm though, her amber eyes still gleaming as she glanced back at Dreamleaf, then to the Mothermouth. She'd heard about this place in kit stories, and it still hadn't quite sunk in that she was here. She was going to meet with StarClan soon, right? That alone was enough to make her feel excited and nervous, in equal parts.
"Do we go in?"

Dreamleaf watched the moon closely, and then replied with a 'yes' after a few moments. Dreamleaf stood up and beckoned for Sparkkit to follow her. The Medicine Cat made her way into the cave, being consumed by darkness.
"I want you to stay close to me," Dreamleaf warned, as it would get dark. As an apprentice, she'd always hump into walls by accident, but now she knew it like the back of her paw. Dreamleaf moved through the darkness until they reached the opening in the cave where the Moonstone rose mightily. Dreamleaf let out a sigh of happiness at the sight of it. Dreamleaf moved forward slightly then turned to face Sparkkit. She inhaled and began to speak:
"Sparkkit, do you wish to follow in the pawsteps of Starclan and go down the road of a Medicine Cat?"

Sparkkit gaped at the sight of the Moonstone, in all it's glory. "Wow..." she murmured under her breath, trying to keep quiet. This was clearly an important thing they were going to do. She turned her attention to Dreamleaf and took a deep breath as she listened carefully.
"I do," she mewed solemnly.

"Starclan understands your wish to follow their path. Warriors of Starclan, I present to you this young kit, Sparkkit. She has chosen the path of a Medicine Cat. Grant her your wisdom and insight so that she may understand your ways and heal her Clan in accordance with your will. Sparkkit, until you receive your Medicine Cat name, you will be known as Sparkpaw," Dreamleaf announced. She smiled at the newly named apprentice then turned towards the Moonstone.
"Touch your nose to the Moonstone. Afterwards, Starclan will visit you," Dreamleaf instructed. At that very moment, the moon hit the stone and it lit up. It shone brightly and majestically. Dreamleaf stared at it for a few moments, taking in its beauty. She moved forward and told Sparkpaw to follow her lead as she touched her nose to the moonstone.

Sparkpaw smiled as she heard her new name, one that only grew bigger as the light hit the rock. Hesitating only for a moment, she touched noses with the rock. Slowly but surely, the she-cat found herself drifting off into a quiet, peaceful sleep. Sparkpaw found herself in expansive, grassy field that seemed to stretch on infinitely. the sky was glimmering with millions of stars above her, almost outshining the full, radiant moon. It was simply stunning. As she took it all in, one of the stars seemed to glow brighter, than the others and seeming to shoot down from the sky. Before her awe-filled eyes, it transformed into a large tom, dark-furred, stumpy-tailed and pelt ridden with stars. She though she could even smell the familiar scents of ThunderClan on him.

"Hello, Sparkpaw," the tom meowed. "I'm Nightfire, the former medicine cat of ThunderClan."
Sparkpaw smiled and nodded, trying to hold back her excitement. Clearly, she wasn't doing a great job of it, judging by her twitching paws and shining eyes.
Nightfire chuckled. "The path of a medince cat can be a lonely one, but I trust you have made the right decison. Make sure that you pay attention to Dreamleaf. She's an excellent medicine cat, and I trust her to train you well. Pay her my respects. Remember, always stay by the warrior code, and StarClan will be with you." The starry tom smiled. "Goodbye, Sparkpaw, and good luck."
And with that, the former medicine cat faded away into the stars, and the newly named apprentice woke up.
Sparkpaw nudged Dreamleaf, still in awe of what had happened. This was serious now. This was the life she wanted, she knew that. And she couldn't wait to begin.
"Nightfire says he pays his respects," she told her mentor. Now, it was time to head home.
