| RiverClan July 2023 Newsletter Current Happenings RiverClan, ThunderClan and SkyClan are now officially in an alliance! If any of them get into war, then they will support each other with warriors, herbs, and anything else needed. RiverClan and ThunderClan will be sharing the territory of Sunningrocks. Feel free to create open topics where you can spend time lounging on the warm stones with your new allies. Keep these alliances in mind when at Gatherings, or when interacting at the ThunderClan and SkyClan borders!
After Fernpaw of WindClan crossed the border to attack Drizzlepaw of RiverClan, Perchstar decided to challenge for the territory of the Gorge. When it became apparent their strength was not sufficient, WindClan ceded the battle. The Gorge territory now belongs to RiverClan! But be careful at the border, as the enemy Clan still harbors a grudge over this defeat, and skirmishes may be inevitable...

Topic Spotlight of the Month Every month, we will be spotlighting a topic within the RiverClan territory that we agree is particularly well-written, insightful, or eventful. If you have recommendations for that topic, then you can always feel free to reach out to Ash or Xaandiir during the month at some point! We are open to suggestions, and we love reading topics from you guys.
This month, the topic we are spotlighting is “lip-sync the comforting scene.” In this topic, Sunpaw and Rookpaw, who have been friends since they were kits, have a heart-breaking argument over how to deal with grief and how to move on. Both have experienced devastating losses, and an inability to quite understand the other’s point of view leads to raised voices and hurtful words. Lostfanboy and Downfive play their characters masterfully, and the disconnect between each character’s inner and outer voice leads to some beautiful dramatic irony that really makes you wonder how these two will ever repair their relationship. It also does a very good job of building on past events, leading to a full understanding of how their characterization has grown since their creations. We recommend that you give it a read!
