| RiverClan April 2023 Newsletter Current Happenings Perchstar has returned! After a strenuous moon’s journey, the exhausted leader stumbled back into camp, bearing a surprise of her own: four new kits. No one knows who their father is, but they have been accepted into the Clan, and life is finally beginning to return to normal as Perchstar resumes her duties. If you haven’t already, then feel free to jump into any of her open topics with your RiverClan characters.
RiverClan is low on warriors, but the nursery and apprentice’s dens are full to bursting with new kits and apprentices. How will this lack of balance affect the Clan’s dynamics? How will the apprentices learn and grow alongside each other and their shared mentors?
Sandyshell has been RiverClan’s solo medicine cat for several moons, mourning the loss of her mentor Dovesight and recovering from being taken by Twolegs. But keep an eye open for the Medicine Cat Apprentice slot becoming available to apply for this month! Topic Spotlight of the Month Every month, we will be spotlighting a topic within the RiverClan territory that we agree is particularly well-written, insightful, or eventful. If you have recommendations for that topic, then you can always feel free to reach out to Ash or Xaandiir during the month at some point! We are open to suggestions, and we love reading topics from you guys.
This month, the topic we are spotlighting is “cause it led me back... (solo)”, a solo topic by Ash featuring two of her characters, Perchstar and Felix, on their journey back to RiverClan.
This topic is a great spotlight of Ash's beautiful writing and thoughtful introspection on Perchstar's state of mind as her adventure outside of RiverClan came to a close. Ash did a great job balancing the two opposing personalities, and her series of solos during Perchstar's absence felt very authentic to each character. The struggle Perchstar felt as she neared RiverClan was portrayed realistically and the memories of her friends were wonderfully utilized. Perchstar's whole saga was a fantastic read and we encourage everyone to go read it if you have not already!
