| RiverClan April 2023 Newsletter Introduction Hello and welcome to the RiverClan newsletter! This has been an on-and-off tradition within our clan dating back to 2021 with Ivystar. We are going to be continuing with the tradition each month. If you have any suggestions for how to improve our newsletter, please do not hesitate to contact Ash or xaandiir! Current Happenings Perchstar is currently missing. Hit by a monster and abducted by Twolegs on her way to the Moonstone, will she ever return? In the meantime, Poppyshine is in charge of RiverClan, doing the work of both leader and deputy. Should she go and claim her lives and lead the Clan officially? Should she at least appoint a temporary deputy in her time of crisis? Or will Perchstar come back any day now, as so many are confident she will?
Many cats formerly abducted by the Twolegs have returned. Still, RiverClan is dwindling in numbers, and the returned warriors and apprentices alike are still dealing with the trauma inflicted by their kidnappings. Topic Spotlight of the Month Every month, we will be spotlighting a topic within the RiverClan territory that we agree is particularly well-written, insightful, or eventful. If you have recommendations for that topic, then you can always feel free to reach out to Ash or Xaandiir during the month at some point! We are open to suggestions, and we love reading topics from you guys.
This month, the topic we are spotlighting is “finale (what you do next)”, a solo topic by downfive and their character Rowansong!
We believe that this topic was worth being spotlighted not only because of Downfive’s wonderfully evocative writing style, but because of the character development that the former Rowanpaw had gone through over the past few months, finally culminating in his post-warrior-ceremony vigil. It shows good insight into how Rowansong had grown and why, and what that will mean for him in the future. It’s a great read and we recommend that everyone check it out!
