Another Moonstone, another apprentice, another trip. Making her way to the apprentice den, she wondered if she can ask Nightstar to give them a heads up or something so she didn't always have to wake them up. Entering the den, she scanned the sleeping forms to find her target. Finding them, Burdockroot weaved through the cats and nudged Harrierpaw in the shoulder. "Follow me." She said as soon as he opened his eyes. Not waiting around, she weaved her way back out and to her den.

Harrierpaw's eyes blinked awake, puzzled for a moment what the medicine cat could possibly want at this hour. Without a word, she stood, her large form embarrassingly too big for the apprentices den now. She remembered now: her moonstone journey. The apprentice followed Burdockroot without a word.

When the apprentice joined her by her den, the Medicine Cat nudged the bundle of traveling herbs forward. "Eat these. We are going to the Moonstone so you can become a warrior." Her flat tone made her seem more uninterested than she was, but by now any cat who spent a second around her would know it is her usual voice.

The Moonstone. She heard of this place from Nightstar. The cats that were made of stars seemed to dwell there, picking and choosing who to bless with near immortality and rebirth. Unfair beasts that danced in their own glory.
But that was for Harrierpaw to hold onto. She smiled kindly, but her eyes showed no excitement. "Thank you, Burdockroot." As she tool the herbs and chewed, her smile faltered. That was... "Gross." She accidentally said that out loud, but she was sure it was something the ShadowClan medicine cat heard often. Swallowing the last of it, she nodded her head signaling she was ready for the trek. Her trust was fully in Burdockroot to guide them both safely.

Burdockroot watched as the apprentice choked down the traveling herbs. "Yup. Common complaint. I didn't create them though." With a flick of her tail on the apprentice's shoulder, she stood up and stretched before starting towards the camp's entrance. "Let's get going."

One other uneventful and boring trip later, Burdockroot and Harrierpaw stood in front of the cave entrance. Glancing up at the sky, the time was close. "Follow my tail. It's dark." She said offhandedly before plunging into the darkness, where she led the apprentice with ease. The harsh light of the Moonstone starting to glow hit Burdockroot's eyes but she did not wince. Instead, she pointed with her tail to the warn rock in front of it. "Lay down and touch your nose to it. Wake me up when you're done." Stalking over to her usual spot, she laid down and swiftly covered her nose with her tail. Waiting, she watched the apprentice to make sure she successfully slumbered her way into StarClan before she too would get precious moments of sleep.

At first, Harrierpaw felt close to nothing about visiting StarClan. But as they inched closer, stalked through the tight tunnels and directly into the glow of the Moonstone... She could feel her heart skipping beats and sweat beading under her fur. She wished, hoped, and pleaded that it would be her birth mother that would greet her. Though she understood and cursed StarClan that it wouldn't be.
Her large form crouched uncomfortably in front of the stone. She touched her nose to the ice cold surface and closed her eyes. Which cat would take pity on the outsider turned ShadowClan? Or perhaps no one would be there are all.

Webshadow's tail swished idly across the thin, star-speckled grass as he waited for the apprentice to appear. It almost seemed odd to him, that he would be asked to speak to her when he'd only just joined StarClan. But she'd been the first one to find him, and while he'd never gotten to know her more than passing words when she was due to look after him and Duskflight, perhaps they had more in common than he thought.
With a twitch of his ears, the dark tabby slowly turned his head at the sound of a disturbance in the fields. She didn't look quite awake yet, but Harrierpaw had arrived. Lifting to his paws, Webshadow padded closer until he was about a tail-length away, where he stopped and gingerly reclined back onto his haunches. He looked different than she would have ever known him: his gait was smooth and steady, the unhealing leg set fine and scarless; and his stolen eye had been restored, the torn flesh around it smoothed and fluffed with thin fur. He only regarded her in quiet for a moment, then dipped his head to the large apprentice. "Hello, Harrierpaw," Webshadow rumbled quietly. "Welcome to StarClan. I am sorry I am not someone else. But, I am here– and is there anything you would like to ask me?"

Her eyes slowly opened to a never-ending field of stars. Other than the subtle and of wind rustling grass, it was quiet with everything perfectly in its place and untouched. Except for one lone cat with a pelt lightly coated in stars. She knew this cat. "Webshadow..." He looked healthy, all blemishes gone and both eyes in his head this time. He even looked younger! Perhaps StarClan wasn't cruel in all things.
His question lingered in the air for a brief moment as Harrierpaw thought it over. Was she allowed to ask more than one? She would try. "Has StarClan treated you well, Webshadow?" He had died alone, inside ShadowClan camp, something that would guilt Harrierpaw as the one of the cats tasked with watching over the elders den on their return after the Quake. She hoped that the elder hadn't felt lonely during that time. "Were you greeted by loved ones when you arrived? Are you happy here? Treated well?"
"...And have you seen a black furred she-cat who mimics my own looks, but missing her tail and an ear?" This question was about her mother, a cat who didn't even know who StarClan was. She probably didn't even want to know the answer.
