Though Briarthorn was well aware of the kits growing quickly in her belly, she still made an effort to get out of camp and contribute, even if her skills and abilities were impaired. She still had plenty of time before they’d be here- time to accept it for what it was, and time to hunt. For now, she decidedly stuck with the latter. So, padding through the territory, she kept her ears turned out and her nose in the air in case something nearby caught her attention. Somewhere nearby, she knew the Clanmates accompanying her were likely (or hopefully, at least) doing the same. A flutter of wings to her right signified a bird nearby, and she dropped into as low of a crouch as she could manage, eyes scanning for the feathered creature. Once she was close enough, she leaped forward and pounced directly onto it, quickly nipping it with her teeth at the base of the neck. It was a fine sparrow, enough to fill up an apprentice at least. Satisfied with her catch, she began pawing at the dirt to bury it, where she’d later pick it up before returning to camp.
Briarthorn successfully caught a bird, using -3 SP.

It was strange, hunting in skyclan territory. Stars hunting in general was something he hadn't done in a long time. Sure he went along on some hunting patrols in Thunderclan, but he never really hunted for the clan like this anymore. Of course he was determined to do his part.
He didn't know much about his clanmates but hopefully with hard work, he could make a good impression on them, show them he was someone they could rely on. He was determined to make himself a good warrior once again. The tom saw a squirrel in the distance, and did his best to recall all of his old training. He crouched low, stalking closer until it was time to pounce. The large tom was quick to catch and kill the squirrel. It seemed he still had some of his hunting skill.

Driftcloud padded after the two older cats, watching their every moves. Briarthorn had proven herself to the Clan before, but Dovefrost was new. From what he'd been told, the white tom left ThunderClan and left his position to be with Beechfang and their kits. Honorable, yes, but now he had to prove himself.
Briarthorn herself was dangerously pregnant, and the white-and-gray warrior was impressed by her tenacity to keep moving despite all her extra weight. The cats ahead of them split off to hunt on their own, and Driftcloud took the cue and did the same, sneaking off across the fallen pine needles to see if he could catch anything. He too had to stay sharp on his skills. Keeping his body low, the drifting scent of a vole came across his nose and it took them just a moment to locate it. The little creature was scrabbling in the dirt to find food itself, and they almost felt bad for stalking it. Everything's gotta eat, he thought, inching forward closer and closer. Once they were within range, they pounced, heavy SkyClan hind legs flexing. Their claws made contact with the little animal, which cried out for only a moment before the warrior silenced it with pressure on its neck. There was a small snap, and the vole moved no more.
Satisfied with his catch, he scraped a small hole in which to bury it in and covered it, continuing on his way.
Driftcloud attempted to catch a vole. They were successful, costing 3 stamina.

Wolfpaw was fairly new to being an apprentice, but she'd been happy to join the hunting patrol. She didn't know Briarthorn well save for that her mother seemed... Awkward around her, and Driftcloud she knew even less than that. But they were her clanmates, and besides, dad was coming along with them too. "Nice catch, dad," Wolfpaw grinned cheekily up at her father before darted off in search of her own prey. Birds were plentiful among the trees, the flutter of wings above as a wren settled on a branch quickly drawing Wolfpaw's attention. She wasn't particularly graceful in the trees, still in the stage where her legs were long and her paws seemed too big for her body, but graceful hardly mattered to her so long as she could catch her prey. She made her way from branch to branch carefully, mindful of her mentor's earnest warnings about what branches could hold her weight as she went after the bird.
Unfortunately for her, she'd taken just a bit too long to steady herself on the branch before she leapt, and the bird took to the sky. Wolfpaw's claws caught only a tail feather for her trouble, and panting, the apprentice huffed in frustration before cautiously leaping to the ground.
Wolfpaw attempted to catch a bird for -3 sp. Catch was unsuccessful. 57 / 60 sp

Once Briarthorn finished burying her catch from before, she shifted her focus back to surveying the land around her, listening and watching for any signs of prey. After a brief walk, she could hear the chattering of what she could only assume to be a squirrel nearby. Shifting positions so that she was downwind, she waited patiently for the squirrel to move so that it would be an easier catch. Once that happened, she pounced and landed right on top of it, once again practicing her routine of ending it and then heading back to where she buried her sparrow to add this to the pile.
Briarthorn successfully caught a squirrel, using -3 SP!

Dovefrost turned to his daughter as soon as he heard her voice. He gave her a small awkward smile, thankful for her praise even if he wasn't the best at expressing it. He wasn't ever the best with his emotions. The large white tom watched as the apprentice bounded off to do her own hunting before going to find something else himself.
At one point he was going to have to learn how to hunt in the trees but for now he would stick to the ground so he could be more efficient. A bird fluttered to the ground a distance in front of him. The tom crept closer carefully trying not to scare the bird, sticking close to the ground before he leapt at the bird.
Just like the other piece of prey, the tom caught the bird with ease. Swiftly killing it before placing it with the squirrel he caught.

Moving on to another nearby area of the forest territory, Driftcloud glanced up at the tree nearest to them. They knew how to hunt in the trees, but it always made them nervous, with their generally bulky frame. Noticing that Dovefrost had done the same, they opted to stay on the ground for now and slunk off, hearing a squirrel nearby as it rustled around in search of a tree nut to eat. It only took them a moment to spot it and dropped into a hunting crouch, their large paws surprisingly silent against the forest floor as they crept closer.
The squirrel was none the wiser, only noticing the tom when he was leaping for it. His claws made contact and they swiftly finished the animal off before carrying it back to their personal pile, pleased with himself.
Driftcloud attempted to catch a squirrel. They were successful, costing 3 stamina.

Wolfpaw slunk through the trees, ears twitching at the sound of fluttering wings overhead. Dovefrost and Driftcloud seemed to be sticking to the ground, but prey was prey and she wouldn't miss out just because it was in the trees. Determined to not miss her catch this time, the apprentice sank her claws into the tree bark, this time careful to keep herself on the opposite side of where the bird had just landed on a branch above. Hauling herself onto an adjacent branch, Wolfpaw made the final leap, claws catching in the bird's dark feathers. She sank her fangs into its' throat to silence a startled cry before it had any time to form before scrambling back to the forest floor with her catch.
Wolfpaw attempted to catch a bird for -3 sp. Catch was successful. 54 / 60 sp
