The older tom turned to look at Poppypaw, "Would you like to spar? It seems that all of the other cat's have teamed up and have already begun the sparring part of the competition." Moon was eager to test his sparring skills and he doubted that he would hurt the younger she-cat because younger cat's tended to get back on their paws very quickly after an injury or a light brush with death.

Owlpaw cursed under his breath as his attempt at stunning didn't work. A swipe towards him came arching across. An expected reaction when somecat had just pulled your tail. Unfortunately for Rushpaw, it was a large move, and Owlpaw ducked to the side, feeling razor-sharp claws whisk past his whiskers. He could imagine it hurt when he made contact. Thankfully, through his quick thinking, Owlpaw's cheek was spared the cuts. Nearly bumping into Dovepaw, the tom shot a glare at the other apprentice but didn't linger as he tried to go for a counterattack. His claws found purchase on Rushpaw's side. A twinge of satisfaction coursed through him, and the tom gave a smug grin towards Rushpaw.


Owlpaw used Dodge and Fight, using 7 SP. But, he does not take damage from Rushpaw's attack. He rolls for a counterattack. It was successful! Owlpaw deals 5 damage to Rushpaw.

His claws swiped nothing more than air. Frustration began to bud in his chest and he longed to lash out once again. But Owlpaw glanced his pelt first. That smug look across his opponent's features stoke a fire within his belly he didn't know existed. It wasn't very strategic, he picked apart that much, but Rushpaw lunged forward. He wanted to use his bulk to his advantage and bowled over Owlpaw, pinning him to the ground. Paws spread across the tom's coat, seeking to make the flailing limbs stationary. A low meow left the sides of his maw, "I'm not finished yet."

Rushpaw used leap and hold, dealing 6 damage and using 15 stamina. (No roll bc Owlpaw only has one move left anyways, and will only be pinned for 1 turn!)

"You will be." Owlpaw growled, using his slippery pelt to twist in place, bringing up one of his legs to push off of the ground, pivoting his muscles to allow for a bit of freedom with his swipes. The other tom was larger than him for certain, but hopefully, using his nimble nature, Owlpaw could get out of this mess. A minimal strike to the other tom's legs left a fury in the smaller tom that grew with every moment pinned to the ground.

Owlpaw uses Duck and Twist. Rolling Effect die. Slippery Coat makes a fail 1-2 on the rolls. Owlpaw uses 5 Stamina. He fails the check, deals 4 hp to Rushpaw.

His opponent writhed, glancing him once again, but Rushpaw had the advantage in this scenario. Rushpaw's right forepaw moved to be square on Owlpaw's chest. With his other paw, he swiped at the other tom's ears and cheek. Hopefully the move would daze him just enough. They seemed to be equally matched and he was relieved by the fact he'd been able to come back from such a poor start. Cocking his head to the side, he finally replied, "You sure about that?"

Rushpaw used front paw strike, dealing 6 damage and using 7 stamina.

Kitepaw grinned at her sister. It was really fun trying to spar against her sister. "Yeah, it is!" she said back, grinning. This was so much fun! The russet-furred she-cat then tapped her sister gently on the face with her paw. "How d'ya like this, Dovey?" she said with a smile. Honestly, she hoped that everyone else was enjoying the sparring as much as she was.
