Mottledwing nosed underneath her apprentice's shoulder, prompting the blue she-cat back up. She then realized that she could only learn it when she was a newly appointed warrior. She winced, thinking she was mentoring Jaypaw badly. "Let's try something else," she said softly.

Mottledwing nodded with clear approval! "Good job!" she praised, as Jaypaw ducked and twisted skillfully, striking the tree with her sharp, unsheathed claws.

Jaypaw smiled at the praise she received. She got back to her paws with an excited smile before she flicked her tail.

Mottledwing smiled back at Jaypaw. "Do you want to continue learning battle, or hunting?" she asked. Perhaps the pale blue she-cat, as vibrant as the sun, would prefer a different teaching. Hunting was next. Although Mottledwing thought that it was safe to move on, she would let Jaypaw choose.

"We can go on to hunting"She mewed smiling some.

Mottledwing nodded, dropping promptly into a balanced Hunting Crouch. She was perfectly stable, her beautiful mottled red body stretched out, and low to the ground. "Try copying me, first," she offered.

Jaypaw nodded slowly and crouched down copying her mentor's stance remembering earlier and kept her tail held low .

"Good!" Mottledwing crooned with pride, nudging Jaypaw's fluffy cheek. She sat up tall and straight. "Do you want to try and hunt something now?" she asked, her voice painted with kindness.

Jaypaw purred a bit before she gave a now slowly. She sniffed the air quietly trying to pinpoint the scent of prey she could catch.

Mottledwing nodded in return. "See what you can find," she encouraged sweetly, flicking her fluffy red-and-white tail, as the molly disappeared to watch Jaypaw. It was no assessment, but this was temporary.

She followed the scent of prey she had picked up and followed it quietly coming to a stop a a she spotted it.The squirrel was just at the foot of the tree and though the apprentice did find it strange she just quietly crouched down and bunched her muscles. After a pause she launched herself forward pouncing on the squirrel catching it between her paws with a triumphant look she bit the squirrel killing it.
