Training in the rain

Crowstar sat at the entrance of his camp, waiting on one of the apprentices to come out an join him. It was raining today, and the water had weighed down the leader's coat causing him to look more like a rat instead of a cat. He didn't care for the rain, but there was training that had to be done, and Stormpaw needed to get used to being in the rain. So they had to do this.

A soft yawn escaped Stormpaw as he stepped into the rain, shivering as the cold liquid started to run down her coat, quickly waking her up. She had lived in the RiverClan camp as a kit, and she still wasn't sure how they could stand swimming in the dreaded water. Her eyes drifted around the camp until she spotted Crowstar, her eyes lighting up upon seeing the leader. It was such an honor, to be being trained by the leader himself! She trotted up to him, her tail swishing and sending water droplets flickering off of her fur (not that it was noticeable in the downpour). "Ready to train!" she chirped, doing her best not to shiver as her fur started to cling to her chest. OhStarClanwhywasitraining.

Crowstar was happy when the apprentice finally showed up. The sooner they could get going, the sooner they could get out of this rain. "We are going to do some hunting today. Scent marks would be hard to lay in the rain, so the only option is too look for prey." The leader informed the apprentice. "Let's go." He said before ducking out of the camp and into the territory where the rain was lessened by the tall trains but fell in bigger drops when it did fall.

Her whiskers twitched as she stared up at the leader, nodding as he stated their mission for the day. Hunting, huh? She figured it would be a bit hard in this rainy weather, but she would try her best! She followed Crowstar out of the camp, her eyes flickering up toward the treetops as they padded across the territory. Part of her was still in awe of the trees they called home - having become familiar with the RiverClan territory and way of living from here time there as a kit. But she was almost a natural at climbing trees, she figured. Almost like it was in her blood or something, she thought with a smirk. She was pulled out of her thoughts when a raindrop landed square on her nose, causing her to shake her head. Now back into the real world, she let her eyes drift toward Crowstar as she waited for any sort of order. Or was she suppose to just go off on her own? She wasn't sure...

Crowstar paused when he got a whiff of a piece of prey out in the rain, trying to get some food. It was a squirrel. It was an easier piece of prey to catch. At least in his mind, but he had to make sure Stormpaw smelled if first. "Do you smell that?" He asked softly, hopefully she would speak softly too see how he was.

Stormpaw blinked when Crowstar spoke up in a soft tone, glancing at the leader before she tasted the air around her.  It took her a few moments, but finally she caught the scent of prey - a squirrel. Her whiskers twitched happily as she nodded at the leader. "I smell a squirrel," she whispered back, before letting her eyes drift around as she attempted to locate it. The smell of the rain didn't help, muddying up her scenes but finally she located it. She glanced at Crowstar, flickering her tail in the direction of the soon-to-be prey, happy to have found it.

Crowstar nodded, then smiled. "I want you to try and catch it." He informed the apprentice. "I want you to crouch low to the ground, but make sure your tail or belly fur isn't brushing against anything. You are going to move forward like that, but when you get close enough you are going to pounce on it, and swiftly kill it." He explained, hoping the apprentice understood. If she didn't he could always show her. It depends on how she learned.
