"Bonding" Time [Closed]

Nightfire huffed, and called his apprentice out of camp. She still didn't know all of the herbs, but with leafbare here, he couldn't do much as for teaching. Instead he dragged her along to help find herbs.

OOC: Short just to get it started.

Dreampaw followed Nightfire.
"Isn't it going to be nearly impossible to find herbs in this type of weather?" Dreampaw asked, eyes wide, as she peeked around Nightfire into the cold forest. Dreampaw looked around.

"Its still our job to look." he mewed, seeing a slight separation in the path. "You go right, I'll go left. If you don't know what something is, call out for me." with that he went on his side, quietly searching for any herbs.

Tooth stalked through the woods, his yellow eyes narrow and cold. He was a white color, almost sticking out in the barren forest which barely got snow. He was starving, but still fit to hunt and fight, and those dang wild cats were fat and warm. Selfish cats, he wish he could dig his claws into one of them. He stopped in his tracks, a lone she-cat was in the brush. Just his luck, maybe he could get some fur underneath his claws. She looked young and small, he could easily take her.

Dreampaw shrugged as Nightfire vanished into the bushes. The she-cat made her way through the bushes, her tail flicking. Her mind whirled as she brought up all her herbs and smells she knew. When she opened her mouth to hopefully catch the scent of something familiar, a very unpleasant smell wafted into her scent glands. Dreampaw wrinkled her nose in disgust. That was not bile. The young she-cat let her curiosity get the best of her and she began to follow the scent. Maybe it was an odd herb that Nightfire hadn't taught her yet. Dreampaw found the strong scent and she padded through the bushes but nearly jumped out of her fur in alarm at the white cat standing there instead.

The white tom waited for the cat to get closer and closer, and bared his teeth in a wicked smile. Her eyes widened in fear, and he loved it. Tooth launched himself forward, sinking his teeth into her scruff, and slicing his claws down her side.

Dreampaw let out a startled yelp and she squirmed around like a very upset worm. Any of the defense lessons she'd gotten from Nightfire for this reason fled her mind. Really? Dreampaw's mind shouted at the lost lessons. The she-cat instinctively batted at her attacker out of defense.

Nightfire whipped out, hearing his apprentice yelp. Bounding in her direction, he saw a white tom on top of her, slashing at her sides. Looking down, he saw blood coming from a wound on her, and he got tunnel vision. All of his senses went down, all he could see was red and this tom. Launching himself at the rouge, he yanked up the cat as if he was a kit, his tail and legs barely touching the ground. Slamming the cat down, he bit at his face and neck, digging his claws into his stomach. The toms battle cries turned to pleas of mercy, but Nightfire couldn't hear any of it. He kept tearing at him, and he soon felt the insides. With one last jerk at the cats neck, Nightfire stumbled back, looking at the mess he created. But, not one bit of him felt bad.

Dreampaw stared in utter shock at Nightfire. Her eyes were wider than the moon and her jaw was slack. She had scrambled away when the Tim had dropped her and now just stood there, frozen as a statue. Her flank was marred and a somewhat small scratch was etched into her side. A small amount of blood welled up leaving her fluffy calico fur a bit matted.
"Uh.. N-Nightfire?" Dreampaw stammered. A mixture of awe, shock and horror filled her Amber eyes.

Turning his head, he saw Dreampaw, looking petrified. He padded over to her and lay down, licking at her wounds. He didn't even know what to say himself.

Dreampaw was at a complete loss for words. Then her mind shut down when Nightfire came over and began to clean her winds. When she returned herself to what was happening she blinked. She turned to look at her wound and frowned.
"We'll need cobweb... marigold..." Dreampaw began to recite what she knew to heal wounds.

Looking at the toms dead body and Dreampaw, he grabbed her up by her scruff, her paws not touching the ground, and with that, he carried her back to camp, surprisingly no one saw him pass by as he brought her to the medicine cat den.

Dreampaw, startled at first, let herself be carried back to camp. She craned her neck back to inspect her wound and she looked at Nightfire. Her eyes were wide.
"Thanks for saving me," Dreampaw murmured.

Letting her down, he opened his mouth to say something, but closed it and went over to the herbs, grabbing cobweb first and putting it on her wound.

Dreampaw closes her eyes and took a deep breathe. This must be what it felt like to be a warrior after a battle. She didn't like it. Dreampaw opened her eyes and watched Nightfire intently. Her eyes wandered around the medicine cat den as she recalled her herbs.

He rarely spoke, but this time he did. "Until you heal, you stick by my side no matter what, you got it?"
