A Very Unexpected Birth

Winterkit was a quiet kit and didn't really struggle to get milk right away instead she mewled once and crawled towards Ashcloud the mystery cat she could scent her mother and some other strange scents as well as the sharp tang of herbs. The tiny kit finally found their mystery cat and curled up next to him purring.

Dewpaw peeked in "Oh how beautiful!" She exclaimed her eyes full of excitement. "Do you still need my help?" She mewed keeping her focus on the squirmy bundles of joy.

Sparrowleaf sat back with a huff once the whole ordeal was over. That was the biggest litter she'd seen in her whole life. A part of her was glad that her vows had forced her to give up the life of a queen. She wasn't sure she would be able to handle it. "Not going to let Ashcloud name any of them, huh?" she mewed, with a tinge of amusement in her voice. "Very well. Just let them nurse, lick them to keep them warm. They'll be strong RiverClan warriors before you know it."

She flicked her whiskers to look down at them all. "Do you need some willow bark to chew on, Mistfeather? Or do you just want me out of your fur?"

There were.. so many. Eight. Enough so that they were spilling out of the nest and on to his paws. As Mistfeather slowly listed out named for them all, Ashcloud agreed with each. Although he wasn't completley sure what wisteria was. A flower, if he had to guess.
A little she-kit curled up next to his paws, still damp. Purring at the tiny scrap, the more than overwhelmed father laid down to lick the kitten. He whispered, "Hi, Winterkit. You're a bit late." The tom then picked her up by the scruff and set her down back in the nest. His eyes then landed on the smallest, Aspenkit. 'Good luck.'

Winterkit mewled as she was picked up. She wanted to be on the ground next to the mystery cat and his strange mystery scents and not in the air or the best full of seven other squirming kits.

After she finished suckling her fill, the grey tabby sought to wriggle through the mass of blobs of her siblings, climbing over top of them and ending up rolling down the mass and out of the nest.

Soarkit mewled as she finished and got pushed out of the way, she rolled to the end of the nest.

The silver tabby let out a sigh of exhaustion. She couldn't believe the amount of effort it took to birth one kit, let alone eight. She turned to Dewpaw, happy she was offering help, unhappy that she was crowding the nursery. "I think me and Ashcloud can handle it," she replied, nodding at the apprentice. Directing her attention to the medicine cat, she didn't quite enjoy her little joke. As much as she respected her mate there was still a need to protect her kits from him. She would have to overcome this if she wanted to keep away suspicions.

"I think I just need rest, thank you," she mewed. Really all she needed was some space and sleep. The amount of cats present was making her a little anxious.

Knowing she couldn't handle this batch all by herself, the deputy looked to her mate with helpless eyes. "Can you keep the stragglers warm?" the she-cat asked, gesturing to the kits who were done their treading and suckling.

The little tom mewed once again at the sound of that strange word. All he knew was those sounds were coming from his mother, the cat he needed the most. Now splayed on top of his sisters he continued to search for an oppening for milk. Thankfully Wisteriakit and Soarkit rolled away, leaving him to suckle to his heart's content.

Winterkit struggled back to her adopted father and curled up next to him again.

Soarkit sat up on the egde of the nest. Soarkit then started to roll around in the moss

The white tom smiled at the three straying kits and nodded to Mistfeather. He laid down, bringing the trio to him with his paws. Since he wasn't on a nest, the warrior allowed them to lay on his chest and in his soft fur. He willed the squirming kittens to fall asleep, and found himself drifting off as well.

Winterkit fell asleep to her fathers warm soft fur and his comforting scent.

Soarkit settled down and curled up,putting her tail over her nose falling asleep.

F*CK I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS TOPIC AHHHHHHH

The newborn Bluekit, being only a couple of minutes old, did nothing more than curl into her mother's warmth, not necessarily seeking milk but rather a warm place to rest, similar to the one she'd just been cruelly thrust out of. While some of her siblings seemed eager to explore their new world and all of its joys and dangers, she was content to just sleep pressed up against her mother. Being born was rather tiring.
