Sagestar was already waiting outside the camp with his eldest apprentices, flicking his tail impatiently. "Alright. You have until moonhigh to as catch as much prey as you can, and then meet back here." The gray tabby tom meowed, glancing up at the sky. It was sunset right now. "And remember. I'll be watching. You may begin now."

[just catch like around 5 pieces if you can.]

Ooc: My month's up in about a week, so does that mean Shadepaw's one of the eldest? >_>

Ic: Shadepaw shot off away as soon as Sagestar gave the green light. He raced silently through the shadows, trying hard to go fast but not be seen at the same time. His mouth was open slightly as he tasted the air, and he slowed down, now trotting, towards what seemed to be a large frog. Crouching, he narrowed his eyes, locking them onto the prey. He shot forward, claws outstretched, and aimed to dig them into the frog's back. The frog went limp, sticking to Shadepaw's claws as he buried his prey quickly, going on to look for more prey.

Nightpaw sat there silently, nodding. Her tail flickered as she turned and raced from the small group to hunt, her eyes narrowed. Her mouth was open as she slowed to a stalk, her mouth open as she tasted the air. The warm scent of a frog found it way to her, causing her to grin. Perfect. Dropping into a couch, she started to pull herself though the marsh, following the scent of her soon-to-be-prey. Her eyes flickered when she saw it, pulling herself as close as she could before shaking her rump and leaping. She was so close. The toad looked up and noticed the she-cat flying toward it, and with a croak quickly hopped away, leaving the apprentice  to land neatly on her paws. "Toad-Dung," she growled, her tail lashing. She wasn't up to a good start. She spun and stalked off, going to find more prey.

Ooc: Okay, so he caught the frog, then the hunting system was changed, so if it were changed before I posted he wouldn't have caught the frog...So much confusion...
Perhaps I'll just catch 6 pieces instead then, just to make sure. If I leave anyone behind,it's because I'm getting my end over with, and then I'll wait for you.

Ic: Shadepaw perked his ears, slinking around trees, mouth slightly agape still. Was that a lizard? Maybe he should try to catch that. Crouching, he bunched his muscles, then streaked forward, aiming to pin the prey and kill it before it could escape. His claws pierced the skin with no problem, having judged his accuracy perfectly that time. With a smile, he buried the lizard then rushed away to find more prey.

Occ: I was planning to wait for other people to post but seeing how my month is up tomorrow...

Ic: Nightpaw pulled herself forward; her ears flat on her head as she kept an eye out for anything moving. Suddenly a soft movement caught her gaze; causing her to spin around. Ah-ha, a frog! She dropped into a couch; pulling herself forward as her tail flickered. She was going to catch this one! When she figured she was a good distance away; she shook her rump and jumped. However; the frog hopped away as soon as she took off. Oh come on! She hit the ground where the frog was moments before; letting out a growl as she glanced around. She was not going to fail this assessment! She was going to get her warrior name! With that; she stalked off in a small fit of rage.

Ooc: Gone all weekend...Sorry.

Ic: With a grin, the tabby apprentice soon could scent more prey nearby. A pair, in fact. Perhaps he'd be able to catch one of them, possibly both if he was careful. Maybe he would try that out. After all, two was better than one!
Leaping cautiously over a rock, careful not to make any noise as he neared the prey, Shadepaw crouched, bunching up his back legs as he got ready for the spring. He unsheathed his claws, narrowing his eyes to make out the figures. The scent told him it was two rats, and his eyes said one was rather plump. He shot forward, teeth bared, but making sure to be quiet so any nearby prey wasn't scared off.
Snatching one up in his claws, that being the fatter one since it was obviously slower, he dug a single claw into its neck, killing it quickly. Burying it with his other prey, he moved on, nose high and twitching as it sniffed at the marsh air.

Come on; couldn't she catch at least one thing! Nightpaw muttered things under her breath as she tasted the air for something; any piece of prey! Her ears suddenly perked up; a soft smile on her face as she scrambled onto a fallen log and peered over to see two lizards. Hopefully; she would be able to get at least one of them. She gracefully slid from the log and stalked toward them; her steps careful and small before she smiled and took a flying leap at them. She landed on one of the lizards with a grin; quickly ending it's life before looking up. She let out a soft sigh; the other lizard had disappeared. The silver tabby shrugged; grabbing the dead lizard in her jaws as she padded back to the log and hide her prey below it. That looked good; at least she had a prey pile now. With that; she turned and went off looking for more.

Occ: Trying to catch two at a time seem like a good idea; so I am stealing it. *steals idea*

Smokepaw understood what Sagstar had said, and went off into the territory looking for some prey. The smokey apprentice came across a lizard, and crouched making sure not to startle it. She crept closer, and closer until she pounced.
