Long Shadows

Pantherkit, sensing something was wrong, stood up slowly and looked at his parents. He could tell that they would have a little adventure, but wondered where they would be going.

"You are right...but it wouldn't hurt to try." he meowed. He looked at the rest of them. Is Badgerkit the only one with my fur colour? he wondered, a little disappointed. He picked up the small golden tabby at his feet by the scruff and looked at Pantherkit. It seemed as though the small tom knew they were leaving, and so he decided to see if the kit could walk already.

"Shall we go then?" he asked Ebonyroot through Mothkit's fur.

Ebonyroot nodded, through the fur.. "Are you sure Pantherkit will be okay? We need to hurry, it's too cold for them to be out long..." The slightest hint of worry was hidden in the back of her throat, ignoring Badgerkit's small squeak of protest.

Sparrowkit squirmed around, dude like... what's going on!

Badgerkit flicked her tail at Sparrowkit, trying to tell her that it was ok. She knew that where they were going, were ever it was, they would be safe.

"If he gets tired or falls, I'll carry him." he replied, looking down at the ginger tom. Icewhisker noticed just then that the kit had quite fluffier fur than usual, and also his whisker looked longer. I wonder what that will do for him. He stood up, and lead the way out of the Barn very slowly, looking back to see if Pantherkit knew to follow. He stopped once he was out, waited for the rest to catch up. A cold breeze was blowing hard, so Icewhisker tried his best to protect Mothkit from getting too cold. This isn't good... he thought.

Pantherkit, watched his father slowly leave with his sister. He stumbled forward, not wanting Mothkit taken away. He didn't know he was just supposed to follow. The tabby still stumbled, but he wasn't going to let the large tom take her away.

Sparrowkit squeaked, but calmed down. She fine, until that cold breeze came... Oh no! So cold! She managed the best she could to get closer to her sister.

"I you won't, then I will..." Ebonyroot watched Pantherkit, the breeze flattening his thick fur. She somehow managed to get the third kit in her grasp, StarClan, this was going to kill her jaw in the morning. She had a newfound respect for the queens. "I'm not going to let my kits freeze to death out here, his legs aren't long enough yet..." She hissed through their fir and stumbled out of the barn. They were heavier then they looked, especially Pantherkit.

Badgerkit let out a squeak as her mother picked up Pantherkit, and she flicked her tail as the cold wind hit her. She never thought that it could be so cold. She let out another squeak, wanting to go back to the barn where it was warm.

"Give me Pantherkit. We'll have about the same weight to carry, since Mothkit is smaller." he meowed, knowing she couldn't carry the 3 all the way.

The ginger tabby wriggled in his mother's grip, uncomfortable with 2 of his sister there as well. Another strong breeze blew across the moor, making him shiver even with his fluffy fur.

"And maybe his fluffy fur will keep Mothkit warmer. He could keep her warm so she doesn't freeze." Icewhisker added, trying to look at the small kit in his hold.

Ebonyroot nodded slowly and set Pantherkit down for him to pick up. "What a night..." she muttered wearily. Sparrowkit started protesting as the she-cat began to walk, Ebonyroot did her best so the two didn't skid against the ground.

Pantherkit let out a small sigh as he was put down by his mother, but grumbled as Icewhisker picked him up.

"Don't complain..." the medicine cat whispered as he followed Ebonyroot back to WindClan camp.

"I'm blaming these four on you, I hope you know that..." Ebonyroot flicked her ear and muttered through her daughters scruffs, a bit of playfulness shining in her eyes, but said nothing else until they hit the moor. This was srs buiz, she didn't know if she could handle it.

Badgerkit let out a squeak as the cold wind hit her, she wanted to be in a warm place, with her family. She looked around, there was only a few bushes here and there. As the traveled across the moor, she asked herself, where was she being taken too?

IC: After finally reaching camp, Pantherkit was shivering, and his eyes were shut tight. Icewhisker let out a sigh, and padded into Featherstar's den, not asking permission. He put the 2 kits down, and curled his tail around them, trying to keep them warm.

"Featherstar, sorry for barging in like this..." he meowed, looking back to see if Ebonyroot had entered.

Occ: Yes! Time skip!

Ebonyroot stopped at the entrance of the den, staying in the shadows, unsure about walking in further. She dare not invade the leader's privacy so easily.

Sparrowkit let out a squeak, cold and sodden from the weather, Ebonyroot set the two kits down in a near-by stray pile of moss.

Badgerkit had fallen asleep on the walk here. She flicked her tail as Ebonyroot placed her down, but didn't wake up. She let out a small purr in the moss, happy she was warm, even if she was asleep.
