By the River

"And I was in ThunderClan the moment I was born!"
She hissed.
"Where were you, before that third moon? Begging to be let out from a kittypet nest?"
She was at her paws now, bending over some.
"ThunderClan fights needlessly, that's that. They hold back the strongest cats' training and the weaklings always become warriors first. How do I know? I'm listening to you! I was ThunderClan once. I was born moons before you. I'm still an apprentice, and you're a warrior. I was a mere kit- the size of an older apprentice -when I left."
She shook her head again. All of her rage had been taken out on this she-cat. She stood her tallest, towering much taller than when she was laying down. She was about the size of Sleepyyawn. She was, after all, blood relative of Sunset, who had been nearly as tall as Bramblestar, the largest cat in the forest.

"I lived in the alley, with my family." Metalshard mewed to the much larger cat. "The alley cats around us always came and attacked us, took what was ours." her eyes were full of sorrow "Thats why I don't like the concept now." she stood back up and streched "I was taught how to fight the second I was on my feet, I am no kittypet." she finished with a growl. "Thats why I was given my warrior name so soon, I'm as old as a apprentice." she looked at her small body "And as small as one to." she added with hurmor.

He smiled hollowly. "StarClan gave some cats trouble because they think they could use the challenge." he stared at him through narrowed eyes. Eyes that had seen so much sorrow. "But StarClan won't help." he looked at the grown apprentice. "ThunderClan doesn't use their warriors wisely. Maybe you could have learned if your training wasn't rushed."

"Why bring Starclan into this?" Metalshard asked. "I have the best Starclan warrior looking after me." she gazed up into the sky. As if triggered by what Metalshard said, warm breeze flowed by the cats.

"The life of a warrior revolves around StarClan, I can always bring them in." he retorted.
"They watch over you, but they can't save you directly if it comes down to it." he said with a sigh.

"I know, ive seen it happen." she replyed remembering the day a Skyclan cat nearly killed her despie starclan anger. "Something tells me that Starclan wants me alive for something, I just need to figuer out what." she srugged as if this conversation ment nothing to her. Her addiute could chage at any moment.

"If your implying the leader, you're sadly mistaken. No Clan in the right mind would pick a non-clanborn cat with a leg that clinks and can't hunt."
She said.
"And you have to become trusted by the deputy and senior warriors. It says alot when you show up by the border every day alone."
She snorted.
"StarClan probably wants you alive to show all the other cats what it means to have a miserable life. I may be blind, but I can see that I'm better off than you."

"They trust me because I'm a warrior of Thunderclan, I will protect my clan, it dosnt matter why Starclan has chosen to watch me, all I know is they do." she sneered. "Your wrong, my life is wonderfull." She mewed. "If I'm happy with my life, then its not miserable."

Sleepyyawn yawned. "You can only help your Clan so much. And another question..." he glared up. "Why are you always on our borders?"

"How would you protect your Clan? By the way it sounds when you walk, your belly fur rubs the ground. You stand no chance against quick WindClan apprentices. RiverClan warriors would unbalance you easily, because of your leg. Your inability to understand that the Clans need to fight to live will render you useless in a ShadowClan raid because you will not expect their ferocity."
Her whiskers twitched.
"Warriors of ThunderClan have even tried to kill their own leader,"
She sneered.
"Goldenstar's own sister and greatest friend took a life from her."
Her expression hardened.
"The only difference between you and a Clanborn cat is nothing when it comes to StarClan. Every cat is watched over by their ancestors."
Her voice turned into a hiss and then a snarl.
"If you think I or Sleepyyawn or Pinestar are not watched by StarClan, you are not smart enough to live here and should have been chased out as soon as you were seen when you came to beg for a home in ThunderClan. Our ancestors watch us day and night."
Silverpaw felt the presence of Sunset beside her. The starry she-cat had come to back up her words about StarClan watching all.
"Why any would choose to watch a kittypet is anyone's guess. I don't care how much you protest. You beg for a new leg from the twolegs often- I've caught your scent mingling with them and every time after I hear you walk, you have the sound of a newely placed leg that is bigger."

Pinestar sat there, not knowing what to say, so instead she nodded.

ooc: they watch us constantly? even when we're making dirt? o3o *censors*

occ- lol xD But drags keeps watch on mel more than anyone.

ic- "I will fight is I have too, I will kill if I have to, I have done it before." she growled. "You don't know how I fight, I only visit the twolegs when I grow out of my leg, its not often because I am a small cat." she flicked her tail in annoyence. "You underestimate me, that is foolish." she looked besides her. The starry form of Dragonsoul stood by her she narrowed her eyes at Pinestar. She distinctly told Pinestar to leave Metalshard alone, but she was letting Silverpaw mock her, Silverpaw knew nothing about this cat, it was angering Dragonsoul.

Pinestar stared at Dragonsoul and shrugged. She wasn't doing anything wrong. Silverpaw and Sleepyyawn were the ones arousing Metalshard, not her. Until now. She gave a hiss. "Well we should settle this with a fight. You would easily lose against us three. So how about take a go with one of us?" she threatened, baring her teeth. "I know it'd be wise to pick Silverpaw, since she is still an apprentice and hasn't much skill. But that'd be cowardly, now wouldn't it. Besides, even if you did pick her, she'd easily wound you. She has ThunderClan blood in her, and she has been in RiverClan. She has great wits and speed, so go ahead. So let's see how you really fight, kittypet," she snarled, unsheathing her claws. "If you win, you get the honor of being called something more than a kittypet. You have the right to spread word of our failure. If we win, we'll send you back running to your camp like we did before, and underestimate you more. We will spread your weak battling all over the forest until all of the Clans will underestimate you and tease you about your metal leg."

Metalshard narrowed her eyes "Why do I need to prove anything to you three?" she growled. Dragonsoul bared her teeth "A fight, do you really think this forest need for fighting?!" she hissed. "More bloodshed?! The clans do not need fighting to live, Silverpaw!" she looked at Pinestar in disappointment and shook her head "Do what you may, lets see what happens next."
