The flood

Frostfur started coughing and spluttering

A small white kit with brown tabby stripes came out,and Sandnose just calmly bent down and nipped open the small sack that conceled all kits,she pushed it over to Sootpelt and simply meowed,"lck,"then turned to wait for the next spasm

Sandnose looked down from the SkyRock to see Snakefire,she took a flying leap down from the rock,of which no living cat would have made a landing,let alone live,she landed perfectly on her paws,she padded over to him,now visalbe to both Snakefire and Sootpelt,"come with me,"she meowed soothingly guiding him up to the SkyRock with her tail resting on his heaving flanks,"your mate is having more kits than this,"she meowed flicking her tail to the first kit,"and I'll need more mouths to lick them other than me and Sootpelts,"she added,odviously showing that she needed his help with the kitting

Snakefire nodded a bit dazed. He swam to his mate and got on skyrock with her. He started to lick the kit whe wimpred feebly. As he touched him, a bot of lightning flew aross the sky, and at that same moment a lightning bolt mark appeared over the kit's eye.

Sootpelt licked the kit to warm him like she did with Sunkit when she found him.

Lightiningeyes pelt rippled as it did before the big spasm,she let out a raising yowl

Sandnose turned to Snakefire,"PUSH!!!"she ordered him with ergency in her meow

Snakefire placed his paw on Lightningeye's belly like Sootpelt did.

Lightiningeye pushed as well with her musles,a small white kit with silver tabby stripes was born

Sandnose nipped the sack the way she had done for the first kit,she pushed it over to Snakefire and repeated the same thing she had told Sootpelt,"lick,"she sat there and watched Lightiningeye lie down more calmly again,she pressed her nose to her daughters belly and sat back up,"there is one more,"she meowed to Snakefire,"I'll take care of it,you just care for that one and the other,"she said

Snakefire nodded and licked the kit, his heart beating with joy.

Lightiningeye just lied there,not qivering or havign any of the kinds of spasms she was ment to be having

Sandnose looked worriedly down at her still young in her eyes kit

Snakefire saw his mate,"story",he barked and the loner came over,"Lick this kit", he said and he did. The brown-black stirped tom licked his mate's fur,"Lightningeye?Lightningeye!",he cried a but fearful.

Sandnose looked away and shook her head,"there is nothing I can do..."she meowed sadly,she then saw out of the corner of her eye that Snkaefire and all the other cats on the SkyRocks paws were getting wet,she looked at Lightiningeyes muzzle and saw that it was submerged under the water she raced over and lifted her face out of the water

Lightiningeye coughed and sputtered and the spasms came again soon enough,the comefurting pictuers of her mother with her were long gone and she was oushing with all her might to get this last kit out of her and into the world of the living

Sootpelt turned to Story "We have to get them to the hill and fast." She mewed in a panic. She picked up Sunkit and the new kit on her back as she stood to keep them from the water.

Snakefire cheered and licked the kit happily,"Bumblekit, nightkit and coldkit",he purred out loud,"how's that for their names?". He grabbed bumblekit as story grabbed Coldkit.

Sandnose purred and faded away...

Lightiningeye raised her head and stumbled onto her paws,"I love them!"she purred with joy at the sight of their kits,let's just hope that there is nothing wrong with them...she prayed

Sunkit held tight to Sootpelt's back.
