Firetreader"Nothing in the world that I do means a thing without you" -T1 Warrior-

Ever since Sunfire returned, Firetreader had made a point of avoiding him. He wasn't necessarily angry with his father, but he wasn't sure how to behave around him after so many moons of thinking him dead. Not only that, but for his father to return with a new kit in tow? It was a lot to take in. So much of his family was dead or gone now, that it should've come as a relief to have Sunfire back. And yet...it only brought more trouble. The tortoiseshell tom frowned; his tail curled over his paws as he stared unblinkingly at the glittering creek before him. He felt guilty. He was glad Sunfire was home, but he'd only just gotten over his death when he was back. After that first day, it was like constantly seeing a ghost in the camp. Suddenly, fury rose up in Firetreader and he kicked a pebble to the side, watching with satisfaction as it clattered to a stop several tail-lengths away. Why were things so complicated? He'd be able to handle it if cats died and perhaps stayed dead, as awful as it sounded. When they came waltzing back into his life, however, it made things infinitely more confusing. He'd been prepared to fill the void left by Sunfire's absence. He was willing to take care of his surviving kin and keep an eye on SkyClan in his stead, but what was he supposed to do now that Sunfire was back? It wasn't up to him, anymore, but that left him with nothing else to do. He hated it.
He could always see what Stormwatcher was up to - his club of sorts seemed interesting enough - but it just wasn't the same. Firetreader took a deep breath, the anger from before simmering into a low boil. He took in the bubbling creek and setting sun with a sigh. Leafbare would be here soon so, if nothing else, he could always throw himself into providing for Skyclan. Anything to keep him too busy to think would be a welcome distraction. Blazepaw had always been good at distracting him - he wished his friend was here now to splash water in his face and chase him around.
